This item is easy to use, comes with a delicious, easy recipe. Only thing I found I needed to do was not put the required amount in each of the prints. More like divide the 1 & 1 /2 tablespoon between the two cookies.
It takes a little practice but nothing is wasted. Even the imperfect ones are delicious. Need to add, I don’t use anise seeds, just the required extract. Used it every day for the first week or so. If this one wears out I will need to get another ASASP.

As other have written. The heating element seems off. Does not brown evenly.
The "on" lights are probably installed off center.
Non stick works great. from the 1st one. Never had a problem.

Now to the direction book. It comes with a recipe for the cookies. Not sure where they got it from. the mix is more of a dough then what I am used to. Added about 1/ cup of water to thin is out. makes the cookies thinner like I grew up on. also. not impressed on the flavor of it.

Overall. I do recommend this item.

I read a lot of Italian comments that do not recommend the non-stick but I didn’t have the money to pay $100 for a better machine. This, however, worked fine for me. The cooking is a bit uneven but you have to watch and take them out before they start turning color and it works fine. For the price, this is a great little machine. I like the smaller pizzelle - the 4 inch is the perfect size in my mind. I have used lemon zest, vanilla, anise, pumpkin spice flavorings. Everyone loves them.

Uneven heat is disappointing

I was really looking forward to using this and was so happy when it arrived. It came with a short owner's guide/recipe booklet, and I used the first recipe to make my first batch. I had some trouble finding the right amount of dough to use, always seeming to have a little too much or too little. With time I'm sure I get better at estimating that. It cooks quickly - faster than the booklet calls for - at about 30-35 seconds per 2 cookies. The finished cookies lifted out easily with a nudge from a fork. The only thing that I was disappointed by is that the heat was uneven, leaving each cookie with a distinctly light quarter. Given that most of the appeal of this style of cookie is it's appearance, I am considering returning the unit. If I do, I will probably try a different brand maker next time, since I don't know if this is a defect in my particular unit, or if every one by this brand is the same way.
