About the Author
About Diane Allen For 25 years Diane Allen has provided a fun, supportive and effective way to learn how to play the violin. Her teaching style incorporates the use of straight to the point exercises, analogies, and big picture concepts that leave the student with a "That was easy!" learning experience. Author of The Fingerboard Workbook Series, www.fingerboardworkbookseries.com and creator of www.myviolinvideos.com, Diane has reached out to the world to share her expertise and give students a platform on which to shine. "I just love the ripple effect of teaching. All my students establish a lifelong love of music. It moves me to know that I've set thousands of waves in motion." In addition to Diane's private teaching, she teaches seminars on Fingerboard Geography, Bow Arm Boot Camp, and Violin Masterclasses. Diane is Concertmaster of the Central Oregon Symphony. She also enjoys public speaking and is trained through Toastmasters Int.

One thing missing is the information you need on music theory which I already knew, but a student who doesn't know the staffs, keys, and location of notes in sheet music or the scales will need to learn that before being able to do the exercises in this book. You can just search online "music theory" and get that knowledge.
I would give this book 10 stars if I could. I can't imagine trying to learn the violin without it.
She is also publishing books to teach the viola notes on the fingering board.
