If you use this stuff, check your drain filter often!
PS: I just read some of the other reviews and I've experienced some of the issues. Having the gelpacs not open and finding them in a blob on the floor of the dishwasher was resolved by being very careful not to touch them with wet hands AND for whatever reason, transferring them from the plastic packaging they come in to a ziplock bag. I put them all in the ziplock bag when I first open the box. I'm careful to have dry hands - clean too of course - and I press all the air out of the bag. When I take each one out I'm sure to have clean and dry hands and I put the gelpac into the detergent cup on the door (mine is a Whirlpool) then close it and as someone else said, just walk away. Whatever caused the blob in the dishwasher doesn't happen anymore so something about that ziplock transfer process is doing the right thing. I also buy only the 20 count package because I was having the problem of them seeming to degrade before I used them all and I didn't want to waste money having to throw them away. I used the last one last night so I'm off to the store!
The results were good. The first thing I noticed was that the glass bowls and drinking glasses were gleaming, with no spots or water marks. The dried-on food challenge got good results too. The 2 pans that I had not been able to get clean in previous washings were still not shiny and clean yet, but all of the burned-on black stuff at the bottom of the pans was now soft sludge, easy to remove. I think it will all come off in the next washing.
Flatware had been coming out with some spots and watermarks, but this time I didn't see any.
I'm very pleased with the Finish Gelpacs and will gladly use them in the future. They work well for me in my machine.
thought i'd try Finish Gelpacs since they were cheaper than the Cascade with the multi-color swirl.
Finish brand does NOT dissolve, even after two loads of normal washing. it leaves a quarter or half bags of the ingredients sitting on the floor of the dishwasher - it leaves a sloppy mess.
i have two water conditioners coming to the dishwasher, and STILL they don't clean the dishes, and still these Finish gelpacs don't clean the dishes. What a waste.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE! go with Cascade if you want excellent clean spotless dishes even with a short delicate cycle setting.
Sometimes a "bargain" isn't worth the price.
See my photo of the useless pacs.

worked well but several stuck together and, in trying to get them apart, I wound up with liquid detergent all over the floor and my cabinet. I will stick with finish PowerBallsPublished 16 months ago by Robert C. Bohley
This is hands down the worst detergent I've ever used. There are spots all over my dishwasher now, not to mention the sandy substance that's left on all my glasses.Published on May 29, 2014 by dayna boyev
These are awful. I have tried to use them about 10 times, since I bought a 20 pack. They only dissolved once, and even then, it left a terrible residue on all of my dishes. Read morePublished on January 30, 2014 by J.
These gel pacs clean well, fit in my dishwasher. However the last box had 20% more but they are stuck together. Read morePublished on August 19, 2013 by Moonbeam
These things don't dissolve completely. Dishes look clean but there are blue globs on the silver wear. Read morePublished on July 1, 2013 by unhappy housewife
We've now tried all of the various forms of Finish (Gel Pacs, Powerball Tablets, Quantum Tablets).
These Gel Pacs are the only one that I'd not recommend. Read more
We tried these because they were on sale. They don't work well, we find food residue on plates and bowls sometimes and almost always on silverware. Read morePublished on March 31, 2013 by Gabriel's Buddy
I had no problems with these, although a couple of times I ended up with a foggy residue on my glasses (but not every time ... still haven't figured that one out ... ). Read morePublished on January 25, 2013 by L. Mountford
