About the Author

Christina Moore once had such a passionate love of law and order that she couldn't decide whether she should be a cop or a lawyer. Eventually she came to realize that her life experiences weren't taking her down either path, and that her heart's true desire was in the written word. Always full of imagination, she decided to put pen to paper, and later fingers to keyboard. Thus far she has explored the paranormal and taken a trip through romantic suspense. When not clacking away at the keys on her laptop, she enjoys good times with family and friends, catching up on the TV shows she misses when she's writing, or losing herself for a few hours in a good book. She lives in a rural community in Ohio and is "hu-mom" to two Chihuahuas and two Siberian Huskies.

I have had this book in my kindle for a while now but last night I decided to read it. I am so glad I did. I will be looking for more books from this author.
Without putting any spoilers in here I would like to tell you about a very hard headed Italian woman and a very protective Native American man. The Man, Chris, is a firefighter and has been through some difficult times and the one he is going through now it one of his hardest times to date. That is until he meets Martie and finds out he can love again and is too guarded from past experiences with women.
He refuses to admit how he feels and so does she. That is until they have to face a very harrowing experience that makes them both see that they are made to be together.
I can not post more without giving things away so you will just have to get this book to find out what is going on and page through the twists and turns of the amazing rollercoaster ride.
Oh I read till 6 a.m. this morning because I could not let the book out of my hands till I found out for sure who the "bad guy" was.
I highly recommend this book to anyone over 18.

This was such a sweet read. I loved the honesty and self-awareness Chris displayed throughout the story, and I loved Martie's tough, no-nonsense attitude. The instant connection between Chris and Martie wasn't too heavy-handed and I liked that it felt believable. Most especially, I loved the way these two couldn't resist each other right from the start, and yet the author didn't allow it to feel forced or cheap.

The easy interactions between Chris and the rest of his crew were endearing, too, and the tense-but-mostly-friendly banter between Chris and Tony made me laugh. And wow, I loved Ronnie. I hope she shows up again somewhere in the series! She's had it hard, and she deserves a happy ending of her own.

There were also a few little plot twists throughout the story that had me sitting back and saying, "Huh, didn't see that coming!" All in all, it's a charming story with emotionally believable characters, very good use of foreshadowing, and great pacing throughout.

There are a few editing errors sprinkled here and there, and the language was a little gratuitous in some places but oh, Martie and Chris - these two are definitely worth getting to know!

A great book that had me reading well into the night. Suspenseful parts had me sitting upright clutching my iPad, rooting for one of the characters or the other to make it out all right. Tears running down my face in some sad moments that touched my heart. Firefighters, first response teams have my upmost respect, they are very well portrayed in this story and the adding some of the Native Indian wisdom was a brilliant touch. This book is so realistic in so many ways and I am glad that good prevailed and it has a happy ending. I recommend this contemporary romantic suspense with 5 stars.

This book has a ton of potential and crosses off a couple of the items I look for in a romance: a well educated heroine, Martine, who is equal to her male counterpart, Chris; and a plot that's deep enough to make me feel like I'm not just vicariously looking through a bedroom window as I read. There were two issues for me, though. This book brings new meaning to "it's a small world" in the way that some of the characters intersect over a decade. Despite being set in Montana which is not the most populous state, those connections were a little unrealistic to me. And I have to agree with another reviewer that unprotected sex on the day you meet someone is not something I want in the hero and heroine. I get that people can fall in love in the blink of an eye, but unprotected sex in this day and age? With someone you've known less than 24-hours? Not smart and not what I'd expect from two savvy individuals. Martie and Chris are in the business of saving lives, so it doesn't make sense that they'd be so careless with their own. It wouldn't have taken anything away from the plot if they had used protection. Those two items (small world syndrome and unprotected sex on day one) are pretty big for me and the reason that I give this book only three stars.

There are definite positives to the book, though. On the upside the premise is good, the physicality was all that and a bag of chips, and I enjoyed getting to know the characters. Some of them were flawed; some were wise (Chris' Grandpa); the (gorgeous) main characters were engaging and I could feel that they genuinely cared for each other; and I'm a sucker for camaraderie in the fire house. Definitely not a bad read and if you're better at suspending reality than I am, you might find it to be a 4- or 5-star book. A solid 3.5-stars from me.

I love firefighter stories and this one did not disappoint. Chris and Marti met under horrible circumstances but were instantly drawn to each other. After surviving all the tragedy they finally admitted their love for each other.

What a pleasant surprise! I couldn't put this book down. Yes, you know how it's going to end. But the switch half-way through was a nice twist to a story that could have ended predictably. And the fact that the hero here was a Native American (far too infrequently presented in such a positive light, IMO) involved with an Italian woman (my nationality) who spoke Italian, was a firefighter AND an arson investigator (good, strong, positive female portrayals) ~ well ~ I was just thrilled! Great job, Ms. Moore!
