I don't know why, but I started thinking about the book and looked it up, I purchased two copies to send to a grandson and to two of my great-grandchildren. Not only is this book easy to read, but it has a message that young ones pick up on. It is a great book that should be in every young child's library. It is a 'take to bed' book!
Don't think that that name makes it sweetish. It's a v. matter-of-fact tale of a cat who is not bad, but not good either, but wants to do big things, persists in trying to learn to become a good fire house cat, and ultimately manages to do so.
Now it's my son's little girl who likes the book.
