Great Game, Good Soundtrack, Good Art Book, Slightly Lackluster Pins.

First: The game. I really like the new mechanics in the game, such as mages learning magic rather than having to have a book at all times to cast. Also, the one space inventories, while annoying at first, give a nice little layer of extra strategy to the game. Honestly my favorite thing though is just that they went with what feels like an edited version of the Sacred Stones formula rather than what is in the new games. (As someone who has not played, Fire Embem: Gaiden, I unfortunately do not know how similar/dissimilar this remake is to the original. Either way, I hope this formula is going to stick around.)

Second: The pins. This is the reason this is 4/5 stars. The backs of the pins have continued falling off, to the extent that I almost lost my Marth pin. Speaking of which, I really do like that there IS a Marth pin.

Third: The soundtrack. Not much to say here. Good composition overall, nothing particularly standout for Fire Emblem music, but definitely not a disappointment either. It's always nice to find a good soundtrack CD anyway though.

Fourth and finally: The art book. The cover is beautiful, and sets a high standard right off the bat with a depiction of the battle between the god Duma and goddess Mila. In fact, the majority of it is great, especially the art for places, which are frankly breathtaking. At the end of it are a number of signatures, which I believe are from the entire team that worked on the game, though I could be wrong on that.

Overall: Great game, good soundtrack, good art book, and slightly lackluster pins. Would recommend.

PS: Really like how it also has the original Fire Emblem: Gaiden cover art both in the art book, and on the inside of the paper-thing the cover art for this game is on.

Classic Fire Emblem Fun and Challenge!

If you were turned off by FE:Fates (and I think a lot of people were), SoV brings the series back to a more traditional style and it is excellent! For the record, I played on Hard/Classic mode so it was definitely a challenge. The characters are interesting and the voice acting is good overall. All of the dialog is voiced aside from the NPC's in the villages.

It also features something called a time wheel. This allows the challenge of classic without having to do the whole battle over again. As long as the main protagionist doesn't die, you can go back to an earlier turn to change your strategy. So if you left your mage out to die you don't have to start the whole battle over, you can go back a couple of turns instead. Even though it makes the game a bit easier, you can still avoid the frustration of having to re-do the battle from the beginning.

This is an excellent entry in the series and well worth the time if you are a SRPG fan. If you only started the series with Awakening you may miss the pair up/marriage system but there is a lot to love about this game.

I'm so happy with this Limited edition! The art book is very large and simply beautiful. The sound track has thirty song; way more than I was anticipating. The Pins are metal backed and very good quality. A neat little add on is you can flip the insert on the game case, the reverse side shows artwork and graphics from the original edition of the game. I really believe for only $20 more than the standard edition you really get some high quality swag.

I have always loved the Fire Emblem games. This one stems away from the recent games that have come out, as it goes back to focusing on the merit of each individual character, instead of characters teaming up. It also has portions that work like an RPG where the characters run around through places which I thought was very interesting.

This special edition also contains music that is absolutely phenomenal. From what I understand, this game had been released before (most likely only in Japan). The music on the CD is half the old 8-bit sounding music, and then the other half is its modern counterpart. The song's play right after each other for easy comparison and I thought that was super cool.

As far as mechanics go I'd say these are wonderful additions and the inclusion of casual mode is definitely welcome. The real time dungeons are a nice addition and are fairly enjoyable and the battle system. The voice acting is really nice and the expansion upon the game is wonderful.

The artbook I'd say is 3/5, its a hardback which is always a plus but it is rather small though the art is lovely. The pins are great quality however and the box itself feels awkwardly shaped. However considering its only a $10 price increase as opposed to the standard edition of the game this is definitely a worthy buy especially for fans of the previous entries and fans of SRPGs in general.

Special edition:
The packaging itself is gorgeous to look at, makes for a nice display piece on a collection.
The book isn't of the highest quality on the outside but it's still a hardcover. It's rather short in content, but the pages are large in size and I love the artstyle.
I love the concept that the CD takes in having both the 8-bit tracks and their remakes, I just felt that a few great pieces from the game are missing.
The pins are nice and I already wore one at a convention.
Overall one of my favorite special editions I own.

The game itself:
It's a classic take on the Fire Emblem series that feels very fresh for those of us that started playing this series from the 3DS.
I would love them to keep remaking the old titles that never came to the west. If you like other games in the series, this is a different take on the formula.
For new players, however, I'd still recommend something like Awakening or Fates: Birthright to begin with. As those games are more streamlined and much more user-friendly.

The Limited Edition is a must have for any fan of the series. For a remake of a very simple story it was amazing, the progression of Alm's route was very memorable although Celica's route had some new twists compared to Gaidan. Post-game there isn't much other than a surprising boss at the final dungeon. Replayability isn't that great but reliving the story even for old Emblemiers was fantastic. The game is somewhat friendly to newcomers, the game itself is mildly challenging but for fans of the series it should be a breeze even on Hard mode.
As for the contents of the Limited Edition it comes with everything as shown in the picture, the artbook is quite short and small similar to that of Fate's Limited Edition but is quite beautiful, the pins are smooth but can get scratched if you're very careless, the Sound Selection definitely brings nostalgia but doesn't include some of the beautiful orchestral music heard within the game. Overall great game and the Limited Edition is well worth it I would recommend it to anyone who has played a Fire Emblem game before.

This special edition was definitely worth the price. Outside box is gorgeous with the detailing being present on the innermost packaging as well. The pins are a great addition to any collection, and a nice bonus, and the artbook is home to many gorgeous pieces. The game itself is gorgeous and an incredible rendition of the original Gaiden. If you're a fan of the Fire Emblem franchise this is definitely a special edition you should add to your collection! And if you're a die-hard Gaiden fan, try removing the covering for the game itself. The reverse cover art is definitely something I appreciated.

Un titulo mas de la saga que debes probar en tu 3ds.
Sin embargo aunque se aprecia la calidad del artbook y los pines, se nota la diferencia con la edición especial de la entrega anterior con el añadido del juego, hubiera estado perfecto que incluyera alguno de los DLC disponibles.
A su vez que la versión europea incluía los amibos que aquí se venden por separado.
Sin embargo la edición sigue estando bastante buena pues se compensa con un precio mas asequible por el que puedes llevarte varios artículos en esta edición de colección.
