It has your heart just pulling and twisting in so many directions and it is so beautifully written.
I will tell you know to have a box of Kleenex next to you and don't let the tears fall down your face like I did. I didn't want to get up and get them because I wanted to keep reading.
I have quickly become a fan of this Author and wow that is all I can say.
I recommend this book to anyone. Yes people it really is that good.
I received a copy of this book from the Author for my honest review and I thank her so very much for letting me read this AMAZING story.
Lennox is a firefighter's wife, married to her first love, Dean. She is essentially a stay at home mom of two kids. Unfortunately, due to the strains of not just everyday life and the years that pass, but Dean's job as a firefighter, they find themselves growing apart. Lennox has a chance meeting with an old flame, Brayden, and she begins to wonder what life would be like if she pursued a relationship with the man she considers her soul mate. Does she dare to risk the comfortable life with the man she knows loves her despite her flaws in order to pursue the man who left her behind so many years ago? Or does she work to invest in her marriage, and everything she and Dean have built together over the years? Unfortunately fate has a sick way of intervening and when tragedy occurs, the choice is no longer hers.
I'm not a firefighter's wife, however I am a military wife, so I understand the feeling all to well of being left behind. The disciplinarian, the bad guy, the one that picks up the pieces when he's gone, the one who keeps the machine finely tuned to make his life easier. I am also bipolar, so I know what it is like to deal with the stress of having a spouse that works in a dangerous job that keeps him away from his family for a great deal of time. Being left alone with the kids, trying to keep their world together when many times "get out of bed" and "take a shower" are the only things you can accomplish on your ever-growing to do list. To have others count on you when you can't count on yourself. I understand it all, far too clearly. That is what made this so emotional of a book for me. Thankfully I am not dealing with feelings for another man, but to understand why Lennox deals with situations the way she does, and why her mind works the way it does, I get that. Completely.
Bravo to Ms. Hart for having the courage to take on a character that despite her issues is still able to remain strong, and truthful to the disease that devastates her and her family. Lennox's interpersonal relations and emotions are absolutely spot-on. I also appreciate the character of Dean, whom understands Lennox's illness and loves her for it, not in spite of it. I too have an incredibly faithful and understanding husband, and I think that is why I was so affected emotionally by Dean's circumstances, because I can just imagine how devastated I personally would be given the same situation with my husband. (Sorry to be vague, I'm remaining spoiler free!)
A Firefighter's Flame is well written and immediately sucked me in from the very start. I stayed up overnight in order to finish it because I simply could not put it down. To say that I related to the characters would be an understatement. The characters and story that Ms. Hart has crafted are well developed, emotional, relatable, and most importantly, believable. If I could give this book more than five stars, I most definitely would because it is certainly worthy. A Firefighter's Flame has earned a place on my favorites shelf and would recommend it to anyone looking for a true love story with genuine characters. This is the first book I've read by Ms. Hart and most certainly won't be the last!
This book will require at least one full box if Kleenex!!!
I can't even begin to describe the love I have for it. It is not your typical book about firefighters but you will not be disappointed!!
Its about a firefighters wife, name Lennox. She adores her husband and has beautiful children that she loves with all her heart! She feels as though she has lost herself in the process and that something is missing in her life.
"I was depressed and and felt trapped because I never did anything for myself"
This book is beyond amazing and I like that Dani doesn't shy away from the darker issues such as the depression that Lennox suffers with! It's something that as you read parts of it, you can relate to as a wife or mother and be like "that's me, I've been there"
This book has everything that a reader wants. You go through every single emotion with Lennox. You completely feel for her! It just shows how strong someone can be when they have people that depend on them!
It takes you through what I feel is such a beautiful story of love, pain and overcoming obstacles (physical and emotional). You see how she met her husband Dean, and how their love started. It takes you thorough years of marriage, love found, love lost, and love rekindled.
"I wanted to believe we could come back from this, but I just didn't know if that was what I wanted anymore. I was conflicted and confused as I had been for so long"
It was so full of unexpected surprises and I was totally blown away with the twists and turns this book takes you on! I found myself yelling at my kindle multiple times and I'm not ashamed to say I also ugly cried like a baby on more than one occasion!! I love a book that can pull those emotions from the reader.
AFF is worth so much more than the 5 stars I can offer. It is
Can you say, FANTABULOUS!!!! It has been a very long time since I had a connection with a book. A Firefighter's Flame, has me in the story, I was living in the story. Dani, has a way of writing that has you in the book.
The story of Lennox and Dean is one that every romance reader needs to experience. They have a love story that many women will be able to relate to. Ladies, the have been married for years will connect. If you had a lost love, you will connect, many will personally connect with the characters and that makes the book come alive.
This was my first Dani Hart experience and I loved it so much I will be coming back for more. The struggle to do what is right when your heart is telling you something else is hard. Doing all that while dealing with personal issues, is even more difficult. Lennox is a strong female that will surprise you.
You will back her from the moment you start the book. The story is real and raw. It is obvious that the author poured her heart in soul into this book.
I can't wait for my next Dani Hart book.
