Recently in a blog post from PfSense it was revealed that starting in v2.5 they will require CPUs running PfSense to be AES-NI compatible. The CPU in this firewall is not AES-NI compatible. It will probably be a year or two until version 2.5 comes out so don't panic, this thing will still make a great mini-PC. As far as I know, there are many other firewalls you could load on here that will not require AES-NI, I suggest giving Untangle a try when the time comes, don't quote me on that.
I'm sure Protectli will update this product when they need to. I just wanted to warn you guys that sometime down the line this thing won't be able to run PfSense. I definitely don't regret buying this, a computer this small, with this much power, there are tons of uses for this around my house.
