That's why I LOVE THESE 20 MINUTE DVDs FROM THE FIRM!!! I know that I can make a commitment of 20 minutes 4-5 days per week and not feel like I am cheating myself and not getting a really good workout BECAUSE I AM DRIPPING IN SWEAT AND I CAN FEEL IT ALL OVER THE NEXT DAY. I purchased Ignite and Turbocharge and let me tell you - they are kickin my butt! I am actually working out harder because I am carrying extra weight and the interval training is more effective with someone who is overweight - you will see results faster. [I know because I hired a personal trainer last year who I worked out with for 3 days per week for only 30 minute sessions and we did interval training. I lost about 23 pounds in 3 months and I saw results immediately.] Interval training is the way to go and you don't have to work out for an hour to get results!!
Yes, it does move quite fast but I didn't have any problems catching on...I think that once you go through it once or twice you will be fine. They are also just fun! There's no dread factor. Emily is very perky but I can handle her for only 20 minutes. Rebekah is great with giving cues...her squealing "whoo!" every 10 seconds is a bit annoying but now I just chuckle at it. Allison is on the other DVD and she is great, great cues, fun and different moves...she has that southern drawl but, again, it's ok for only 20 minutes...I just chuckle and find it entertaining.
For all of you big girls who feel intimidated by Jillian, Cathe and the like...look at these Firm DVDs as a way to work up to those. I am telling myself that when I can consistenly do 4-5 workouts each week AND get through the 20 minutes without hitting "pause" then I am ready for Jillian.
I am on my way!!! "WHOO!!"
