Cruising with the Urban Lady
The Urban Lady rides smooth, pedals easy, and it's fun. With three different gear options — one, three, or seven speeds — you can choose the right bike for your terrain or favorite activities.
The single- and three-speed models have rear coaster brakes, while the seven-speed offers front and rear handbrakes for added versatility.
While only offering one gear, the single-speed Urban Man is still able to serve the differing needs of various riders. It's ideal for those who want a simple bicycle that is fun and easy to operate.
Comfort seat and wide tires
The oversized seat features double coil springs, making the ride smooth and soft. The 2.125-inch wide, grippy whitewall tires absorb bumps for an effortless ride.

Enjoy a smooth, easy ride with the Urban Lady cruiser bike from Firmstrong, which comes in two sizes -- 24-inch (for riders 4 feet to 5 feet, 2 inches tall) and 26-inch (for riders 5 feet to 6 feet tall).
The Urban Lady comes as a single-speed that's ideal for casual riding, a three-speed that's perfect for long rides and climbing hills, and a seven-speed that uses a top-of-the-line Shimano internal gear shifting system, enabling you to enjoy more high intensity riding and to go farther distances than ever imagined possible on a cruiser. The single- and three-speed models have coaster brakes, while the seven-speed offers front and rear handbrakes operated via levers on the handlebars.
The classic, curvy steel cruiser frame is complemented by 24- or 26-inch aluminum wheels, which feature 2.125-inch wide white-wall tires that roll smooth and easy as well as cushion the bumps as you ride over them freely. The wide, oversized seat completes your comfort with dual springs that help make the ride soft and cushy. Other features include wide cruiser bike handlebars with synthetic leather grips, waffle tread tires, and a guard to protect pant cuffs from getting caught in the chain. The bike is shipped 80 percent assembled.
Firmstrong has been designing high quality, affordable bikes for over 10 years with a focus on blending style and functionality to create a fun, adventurous experience for riders -- not just a mode of transportation.

Top Customer Reviews
About me: I am a 61-year-old, 5' 2" woman and I live in the desert southwest, not at the beach. I have been riding a 24" aluminum Kent girl's bike for 4 months around 5 miles/day. I ride on paved roads, but some of them are rough in spots, leading to a jarring and noisy ride from the rattling on that bike. Perhaps the Kent bike is not be intended to be ridden in these conditions for an adult's exercise, so I began looking for a new bike. I found great reviews about Firmstrong and Beachbikes.com.
I was concerned about the fact that the Urban Lady does not have a low step-thru, but the "Finding the right size" video and the "Test Ride Guarantee" convinced me to try a 26" bike, and it's a great fit. I'm still able to do a modified step-thru dismount by coasting on the left pedal while I step thru. The adjustable handlebars are great and have made riding so much more comfortable than my small bike where I had to lean too far forward because I couldn't adjust the handlebars. The steel construction also makes a far better (and less noisy) riding experience as I no longer feel every bump in the road, or maybe it's the larger tires, I don't know.
Assembly was easy once I purchased a set of hex keys. The seat is comfortable, tho I did use my own bike seat. I feel I get a little traction because of the stitching on my seat, but maybe I'm just used to it.
I haven't heard from a mechanic, but I did get a welcome email from Dustin, in which I was encouraged to contact BeachBikes if I need assistance.
Bottom line: awesome bike!
I find the seat to be just fine. I've ridden easily fifty miles (over time!) on this bike and I feel fine afterwards. Sweaty, but fine.
I wanted an affordable, well made bike for cruising around town and also for riding the local city made trails. It has been perfect for that. I like the fact that I can use it for exercise, or to bike to just run errands or go out to dinner. You can look really cute on this bike. It's fun and you can also have great posture which I appreciate as other bikes often cause we to bend over more toward the handle bars and it makes my back ache.
I recommend this bike.
1) the 7 speed hand brake version is not as easy to put together at home as expected. Unless youre decently handy/mechanical expect to shell out some dough at a bike shop for help.
2) The chain has fallen off three times in two months and its pretty difficult to put back on (again w/ the seven gear version). If you are using your bike for time sensitive things (picking your kids up at school) and the chain pops off it can derail you. I had a bike shop put a little link on the chain that makes it easier...but it still takes me a good 20 minutes to pull the thing together and get it back on each time it happens. Not to mention I get covered in grease. Its been a while, but I just don't remember my chain popping off my other bikes that frequently.
I'm headed back to the bike shop today (for the 4th time). I spent a good amount of time looking for a nice but affordable bike. Wondering if I spent $400 at the local mom & pop...would I have been better off? I'm almost at 400 including service + cost of bike.....
