To reel you into the story and then not give you an ending is horrid, cheap and a rip off! To me, it's the ol' "Bait and Switch" game - read this one for free... then I'll charge you for the next book so you can read how Matt and Janie got together! Thanks... but no thanks. I won't patronize an author who does this kind of thing.
I like stories that are in a series, but not when you have to go to the next book to read the ending of the first book. Why not finish the first book then have the second book continue on?
I'm glad "New York" was free, because if I had paid for it I would be screaming, "REFUND!" right now.
Really cared for the characters but the author cheapened their story with too much repetition from the main characters personality to the explicit sex description. Her overuse of the 'F' word also cheapened their lovemaking. Pretty disappointed and will not be reading the sequel, will make an ending in my own head.
To me; this type of writing is nothing but a bait and switch method, a method that I totally despise. I did buy the next book, only because I liked the story line and want to know how it ends. After this one though, this author will be crossed off my list, too. Some people might like this kind of bait and switch method of writing, but I'm not one of them. Too bad too, because I really think author had some real potential and if it weren't for this kind of crap, I might have been willing to read a lot more of their books. I've been known to read a new author and if I liked their writing, I went to their site and downloaded all of their other books. So in other words, the author might have gotten me to buy one book, but I will never buy another. Just think of all the books this author might have sold, if it weren't for the lame game they decided to play.
It doesn't appear to be just my opinion either, just look at some of the other reviews here. Such a crying shame, when an author writes a story that's this good they feel like they have to resort to game playing, in order to sell their other books. #Shakesheadintotaldigust
I rated this book a two, where as if there had been an actual ending...I would have probably given this book a 5 star rating instead.
Would I recommend this book? NO! No way, no how.I will however, be warning all my friends, family, and my co-workers about this author's little games.
