When Chloe does her friend a favor and goes to check out a location she never thought that she would become a hostage. Chloe can't let a little girl anywhere near this crazed man and sacrifices herself to save her. Taylor and her daughter Emily are grateful that Chloe was there and convinces Gabe an ex marine and Emily's father to save Chloe. Gabe and Chloe have instant connection and will do anything to stay alive. They go thru so much in the little time they are together but the bond can't be broken. I loved Gabe & Chloe together that I couldn't put my kindle down.
I liked reading Ben & Olivia's story. There attraction can't be denied anymore and they spend his late night together before Ben deploys. But that night will change their lives. Olivia tries to get ahold of Ben but isn't successful, she has something very important she needs to tell him. Ben is a changed man and when he finally sees Olivia again there reunion is short. When Olivia's life is threaten can Ben be there to protect her? Really good story, love the characters.
What an amazing story. I love Logan and Piper/Sienna. With trying to get away from the horror of the murders around her school. Piper never thought he could be someone she knows. With wanting to start fresh she heads to Jacksonville and meets Logan and she never thought her past would still haunt her. Logan will do anything to protect her. I liked Logan & Piper together and loved seeing the rest of gang in this series as well. You think it's one person and it's completely someone else.
This book is my fav in this series. I really enjoyed reading about Scott & Faith. Scott and Faith have more in common then they realized and one forgotten gift leads them to a kiss that neither of them expected. Scott was t ready for any type of relationship and turned Faith away but a year later he is determined to have Faith by his side. I love these characters and this series, once you start reading you can't stop. I love the interaction of all the characters and at times there are parts that will tug at your heartstrings.
This is a new author for me, but I am impressed with this book. It looks like I have a new author to follow! Gabriel lives on an island off the Jacksonville coast called Rockaway Island. Gabriel used to be in the Marines but is out and now volunteers with the Coast Guard. He was married Taylor and they had a daughter named Emily. Gabriel is supposed to meet Taylor at the ferry so he can spend the weekend with Emily.
In the meantime, Chloe works for her best friend Sienna who asks her to go to Rockaway Island to check out a potential investment opportunity for one of their clients. All Chloe wants is some vacation time, but she agrees to go. Chloe is at he ferry getting ready to get on when she sees a man with a gun near her telling a woman and her little girl to get on the ferry. The little girl freezes and mother keeps urging her little girl to get on. The man tries to force the little girl on, but the mother starts fighting with him and he pushes her in the water. Chloe gets between the man and little girl and distracts the man and tells the little girl to run, which she does. The man grabs Chloe and tells her to get on the ferry. The little girl is Emily, Gabriel's daughter. When Gabriel makes it to the hospital to see his ex-wife and daughter, they use him to go help the woman on the ferry. You need to read the book to see what happens.
The book was very exciting and had twists and turns I did not expect. I loved the book as it was exciting along with a love story. I didn't want to put the book down, but wanted to read it to the end. I loved all the characters in the book. I encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy for an honest review.
This was such a good book!!! It has suspense, betrayal, war, friendship, headache, children and most of all love. Olivia is Jack’s younger adopted sister. Jack and Ben are best friends. Ben has been attracted to Olivia since she was 13. He has kissed her once or twice, but they are older now and Ben is getting ready to deploy for nine months. Ben and Olivia have a night of making love. Ben asks Olivia to wait for him and she agrees. Unfortunately the war takes its toll on Ben where something horrific happens. Olivia also goes through something where she needs Ben, but he isn’t there. He finally comes back to the small Florida town one night and sees police cars in front of Olivia’s house. He stops to see what is happening. He finds out someone broke into her house, but also gets the surprise of his life. You will red to read the book to see what happens.
I just can’t say enough on how good this book was. I felt so bad for Olivia and some of the things she went through as a child and had to come to face with harsh realities as an adult. Ben seemed like such a good guy, but like others who have gone to war had to come to terms with the things that happened to him there. Olivia’s brother Jack was wonderful and stood by Olivia in everything she went through. There was a small group of friends there that had each others backs. Be prepared for some tears in this book—sad as well as happy. There is a wonderful journey that Olivia and Ben have to go through to make them stronger as a couple. I strongly encourage you to read this book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Readers Copy of the book.
This is another great book. Sofie is Olivia’s (from Warrior) best friend and has been in love with Olivia’s brother Jack since high school. Olivia is looking at a college in Louisiana to attend and Jack is getting ready to be shipped out of the marines. Then one night something terrible happens to Sofie, and a few days later she leaves town without telling Jack why. It is ten years later and her mother has died and her two younger brothers have no one to take care of them but her. She reluctantly decides to come back to the small Florida town to take care of her brothers who she hasn’t had much contact with for the last ten years. Her brothers are bitter towards her and she has an up heal battle to get to know them. Jack has spent a lot of time with them and they think the world of Jack. It takes a while to see why Olivia didn’t want to come back home. You will need to read the book to see what happens.
This was another great book that had mystery, suspense, betrayal, friendship and love. Once I found out what happened to Olivia I felt bad for her. Part of me was frustrated with her for not staying and telling Jack and her mother what happened. But then again she was only 17 and not that mature. I loved seeing how she got to know her brothers and wanted to be there for them and protect them. Jack was such a great guy and kept trying with Olivia even though she kept pushing him away. He knew her so well, he could tell she still had feelings for him and knew something was wrong. He just couldn’t get Olivia to open up to him. This was one of those books you don’t want to put down. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Readers Copy of the book.
Piper and Paige are identical twins going to college in Miami. They are roommates with Carly and all getting ready for finals. The last they hear from Carly is on Friday. They are worried as she doesn't answer her texts or phone. On Monday Piper finds out she is not in class. Piper goes to the campus bookstore to talk to her boyfriend, Gavin, who works at the store. She finds him in the back room making out with another girl, gets mad, and takes off. About this time she gets a call from her sister letting her know they found Carly. You need to read the book to see what happens.
This is a great book with a lot of suspense. There is a serial killer on the loose that hasn't been caught. There is someone trying to get away from publicity. There is a hunky ex-marine and now cop that wants to help. There are some sweet ladies that run a bed and breakfast in a small town in Florida. We also get to see Chloe from the last book and catch up with her. How can you not love a book with suspense, love, friendship, and great characters? I encourage you to read the book. This was a good story about a man Scott Green coming home from war with a prosthesis on the bottom part of one of his legs. He was having a hard time with acceptance when he got home, and was invited to his neighbor’s house for Christmas. This is where he met Faith who was home from college for the Christmas break. Faith’s family was funny crazy, especially her grandpa. Faith ended up kissing Scott under the mistletoe as her whole family watched. I got the feeling through the whole book that her family was trying to get the two together. They went over to his house and made out, but he wouldn’t take it any further even though Faith wanted to. She ended up going back to college without seeing Scott again. You need to read the book to see what happens when she comes back home the next Christmas.
I felt bad for Scott at first as I can’t imagine what it would feel like to have been fighting let aline losing part of your leg. I loved how he changed in the year that Faith was gone and he was so much softer. The best part for me was his interaction with one of Faith’s young nieces when she asked about his leg. I loved that Scott’s leg didn’t bother Faith and she was liked him for who he was. It was a good book and I encourage you to read it. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.
