First and Forever is one of those books you want to read without interruption, without stopping, because you need to know what's going to happen, how it's all going to end. It's a book you want to savor, because as much as you want to get to the end, you never really want it to end. That is how I spent my day with this book.

Why do the best books have to end?!? Ugh, I so badly wanted to stay in Connor and Ava’s world. Ms. McLean had me so wrapped up in them, so invested in their lives, making it sooo hard to let go! First and Forever was everything- beautiful, heart wrenching, breathtaking, tear-inducing. It was a story that filled my heart so full I thought it would burst. F&F was everything, and gave us everything we could have asked for, could have wanted, for Ava and Connor. I adored how this story played out- it wasn’t easy, it was downright hard at times, but Connor and Ava faced all that was thrown at them with such strength, even when it all seemed to be too much.

McLean created such wonderful characters -I loved the relationships that were built, not just between Connor and Ava, but between Connor & Trevor, and (especially) between Connor & Mama Jo, even between Ava & Connor’s dad.
The Heartache duet was such an emotional journey, one I’m so glad I got to go on.

I just have to give an extra-special shout-out to Connor. As I said in one of my updates, Connor is the sweetest, most cutest (yes it’s a thing!), most precious young man, ever. And he just got better as the story went on. He puts his whole heart into everything he does, and you couldn’t ask for more than that. Now if only I could find me my own Connor, just a little older…

Heartbroken, sleep-deprived, and probably half delusional from inhaling the first book, I dove in like a starved maniac. I needed to know how this all ended, and without a doubt, it felt like a 10 mile run with these characters once I finished. This Author painted a picture so completely vivid and entertaining, I completely checked out of life for two whole days to binge this gorgeous-ness. I yelled at them, I watched them stumble, fall, get back up, fall again, and had my heart ripped to shreds. Nothing short of pure magic woven in these pages (no pun intended) put it all back together with beauty, grace, and soul-soothing romance. I could eat Connor with a spoon, he's every young girl's wildest dream, and the cast of characters left me feeling like I was saying goodbye to old friends once I reached the end. The surprises around every turn, and the genius way it all pulled together left me breathless, in complete awe, and with a book hangover still the next day. BRAVO!!

One Of The Best Times I Have Had Reading

I am so overwhelmed with emotions. This duet is one of the best times I have had reading in a long time. I did not want to place my reader down, because I was on an emotional rollercoaster of a ride that I did not want to stop. I cried, I laughed I wanted to throat punch both Ava and Connor, but then you have to remember that they both are teenagers and learning about life and love as they grown. However, teven though they were beautifully written, so accurately described and I fell in love with them, however, Ava's mom is my absolute favorite character in this incredible tale of young love. I have a deep admiration for Veterans and fell in head-over-feet in love with her over and over again. Her spunk and humor is extraordinary and unforgettable. I will never forget this book. She touched my heart in so many amazing different ways. ❤️

Jay knows how to bring the realistic scenarios to life in a book, they are so incredibly detailed and I felt like I was there witnessing all events as they occurred.

I highly recommend this duet and all of Jay's writings. She is one hell of a storyteller and you will not be disappointed.

Oh my poor poor heart Jay!! This was a phenomenal story!! I'm positive my husband thinks I'm a bit mental. I felt like I was on a never ending emotional roller coaster, and it was AMAZINGGGG!!!! I have never ugly cried so much through the book but laughed so hard at the same time. The heartache, the pain, those tiny moments of happiness and magic?!? I felt those things down to my bones. It's been a long time since a book or books really that have made me feel this way. It's so obvious how much of her own blood, sweat, and tears went into this duet because her words reflect all that in both books. I devoured every page and every word, sometimes going back to reread the same sentence or paragraph, because there are so many OMG moments in this book. I probably highlighted more than half of the book by the time I reached the end. This duet is an absolute MUST READ OF THE YEAR!!!

After being blown away by Heartache and Hope I high expectations for the second half of this duet. Jay did not disappoint. Do yourself a favor and pick up this duet. Read Ava and Conner's story. Fall in love with them, fall in love with Jay's writing. Your only regret will be if you don't read these books.

An amazing conclusion to the new duet from jay McLean.

As with the 1st book I was hooked from the very 1st word. Jay is 1 of just a few authors I one click, this woman could write a new phone book and I'd read it, just for her words. After a break from writing shes back, and better than ever! 2 of my 3 favourite ever books are jay books. Her words, her story telling, her way of making you fall in love with the characters are next level.

The references to the Preston family warms my heart and makes me hopeful for more Preston punk books.

Whether this is your 1st jay book, or you've read the whole lot, settle your self in your favourite reading place and be prepared to stay there till this book is finished. Once you start reading, that's it, you're in and that's where you stay till the very end

I did feel devastated when their story ended. I'm re-reading the More Than Series now to get over this!
