3.0 out of 5 stars Fast and breezy
By Lauren Newman on March 31, 2022

💍 💍 💍 1/2 out of 5

📖 : The First Husband
✍🏻: Laura Dave
📄: 244

Mood: Witty, flirty, fast paced, HONEST.

OK, for starters - I was dead wrong on the ending - and I’m so not mad about it!

Dave delivers an honest outlook on marriage in a freedom-obsessed society. Self discovery IS messy. It’s also powerful and beautiful and 10/10 times, if done correctly - you’ll end up exactly where you’re meant to be. ✨

This was a super breezy book to get through. For me, very unpredictable and I was legitimately smiling the last 20 something pages 🤍

Swipe for a synopsis - there’s not a lot I can say without giving it away - but I would definitely recommend this book as a fun, easy going, yet emotionally tantalizing read 📚

Enjoy, fellow book lovers 🤍

Side note - the 3.5 stars is (for me), because it wasn’t the most profound read and I think it was meant to be. And the continuous reference to Annie’s column just did nothing for me even though it was supposed to be vital to the meaning of the overall story, metaphorically. K, thanks for coming to my TED talk.
