Took forever to arrive, well after all the 'prime' items did, but happy with the purchase. After first painting session with my 2 year old, almost NO bristles came out cleaning, and NO bristles came out during painting (and this is a toddler). The colors make it easier for her to know what brush goes with in what paint cup... they soak up alot of paint becuase of the thickness, and paint general shapes but hard to make anything 'detailed' but its her first painting set, so i'll get 'thinner' ones easier to paint finer details with when she is 3ish. Would buy again.

The set is adorable. Great colors, chubby long handles that are good for kids 2 and up. The big drawback is the heads fall off. More than half the set now have missing heads, and that was after only one or two uses.
I've re-glued the heads to the handles several times however they continue to fall off.

I would not buy this set again. Looks great and performs poorly.

I'm not sure if I'm giving these a fair rating or not. I ordered these for my 3 year old who really put them to the test. The bristles hung in there for a month, but the handles didn't. The plastic peeled off in 2 weeks and we had to wrap tape around them until the new set came in. All in all they were about a 3.5 star toy.

Nice brushes, perfect size for toddler, but few of wooden handles cracked after just a 4-5 washes. Will buy plastic ones next time.

I bought these for my two picassos, age two and five. They work great and they are a good size for little hands. My only complaint is that the white bristles stain easily, even when used with washable paint and with immediate washing after use, but I don't really find this that big of a deal. It is a good value and they work great with the sargent ten pack of no spill color coded paint cups that I purchased.

Great size for little hands. Nice quality, too. Brushes can take a beating when a 3 and 5 year old start painting with them but these have held up good to the paint scrubbing the kids tend to do and the constant clean up.

I'm really pleased I bought these for my children to use at home for their arts and crafts. My children are aged 9,7,4 and 20 months. Two are left handed and two are right handed and they all equally found them comfortable and easy to use regardless of being left or right handed or their age. They are nice and chunky, they paint well but could easily be used for gluing and they wash well too. None of the hairs fall out all over the place. Perfect for little hands

Within less than two weeks and about 10 uses, these brushes fell apart on me. We have a homeschooling household of three preschoolers/kindergardeners. I left the brushes in tempera paint pots a few times, and left them soaking in some water overnight in a cup. Not a good decision, the painted coatings on the handles peeled right off. Now nearly every single handle has fallen off from the brush on top of the peeled painted coatings. I suppose I could superglue them back, but I was unmotivated giving the peeling handle issue and the quality of bristles were not holding up with just tempera paint use. Also, these brushes are chubby- the stroke really is too broad for my 4 and 6 year old, but just right for my 2 year old. A three year old might be ok with it.
Only really recommend these for a single-child toddler household were mom is diligent about cleaning the brushes quickly and never leaves them to soak.
By the way, the colored handles match the no spill sargent paint cups (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0027VROWC/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1) I bought, which was nifty for color-coding, but I am going to buy only plastic-handled brushes now. These cups have performed pretty well though they are a little too big as indicated int he reviews.
