It was so far fetched and the sex scenes were equally poorly written, I gave up. I didn't even stick around long enough to see what he tattooed on her.
P.S.: As the bearer of seven tattoos, I never had to leave a bandage on for 2 hours. Maybe the author needs to study up on the tattoo business a little more.
Addison finds herself at a tattoo convention in Vegas in the hopes of finally being able to talk to Rush. Back in high school, Addison broke not only Rush's heart, but also her own in an attempt to find someone, anyone who wanted her. She wanted out of the low income, foster family life that she had and at the time she didn't think her best friend/boyfriend, Rush, was the ticket out. She realized very quickly that Rush owned her heart and soul and has spent the past five years trying to talk to Rush and explain.
Rush has been running from Addison and the pain of her lying and leaving him. But when she makes her way onstage at the convention, Rush realizes that no matter how much he might tell himself he hates Addison for what she did to his heart, he would give anything to have her again.
I didn't have enough of Addison and Rush. The chemistry these two had practically melted my iPad screen. They were flipping hot, but they were also very much still fighting what happened in the past and the feelings that never went away. Rush, and rightly so, tried very hard to push Addison away and move on. But for the tough guy he liked to think he was, the moment he sees her he becomes and emotional mess that just wants the only girl he's ever loved. Addison is no different. She thought if she was able to apologize to Rush, she's be able to move on with her life...despite the fact that she did still love Rush. Of course, even after she's said her peace, she can't let go of him.
Laura Wright has set the stage for the Wicked Ink Chronicles and if the characters are going to be as hot and carry the emotional baggage that Rush had, I'm all for this series and can't wait for the first book. Definitely pick this one up. It's worth it.
It's a light steamy read but I'd have liked there to be more substance to the story. There is a lot of potential but not enough depth. I wanted to know more about the characters, the things from their past were just hinted upon and it would have been nice if they were further developed. We see Rush's life in the present - he is a successful tattoo artist in Las Vegas but don't learn much about Addison besides the fact that she is a college student somewhere. Despite the happy end, I feel that there are too many things about them as a couple which are left unresolved.
Overall, I enjoyed it and would recommend me it anyone who is looking for a quick, light and very, very sexy read.
Well, this short read was quite sexy! I bought this on Amazon as a freebie, because I have a slight fetish for tattooed men. I have to say I was surprised that I got so involved in their story. I immediately bought the second book in the Anthology and I can't wait to read it!
Addison and Rush used to be a couple back in high school. Addison humiliated him then and ever since, she's been trying to apologize, but he won't have it. So, Addison goes to see him at a tattoo convention. There she volunteers to get a tattoo, but when Rush sees who his next client is his past and the hurt he felt come back.
Addison wants to apologize, but Rush is setting the rules. He starts her tattoo, but tells her to come to his shop later that night, so he can finish and they can talk. Let's just say that things get quite steamy after he finishes the tattoo. Rush wants to believe that Addison is sincere and he can't help but feel hopeful that they can be together again.
Because this was a short read, I felt like I was getting my head around the story, but I really liked the characters. I sympathized with Addison, because I felt like she was sincere in her apology. Rush was super sexy and I can't wait to get to know him a bit better. I am curious about their past, which I only got a glimpse of. Addison was in foster care as a child and Rush was a really good friend to her. That's how a relationship developed between them. I want to know more about their past, because I think it had a lot to do with why Addison broke up with Rush in the first place.
Overall, I really enjoyed this one. The sexy was...pretty damn sexy. I liked the characters and I like where the story is going. If you are looking for short sexy read, check this out.
~"I've always been crazy about you. You're it for me. Everything. My heart, my guts. My family, my best friend. You're the hottest lover in existence. And you make me feel special, like I matter, like I'm the only one in the world for you."-Loc 944
~"What now, Rush?" I whisper against his mouth as everyone hoots and catcalls around us. "What do we do now?"
He grins, wicked and sexy. "Let's start with and epic kiss, baby and see where we go from there."-Loc 958
