Great book! This book gives you and your toddler "something to do" while he or she is sitting on the potty. We keep it in the bathroom and only look at it while sitting in the potty. Please be aware that the book is very large - about 12" x 10" - so it's a little difficult for my almost two year old to manage by herself. The plot only loosely revolves around toilet training. Some pages: Elmo playing on the playground and has to use the potty, Elmo is at school and has to use the potty, Elmo is at a friend's house and has to use the potty, etc.

The real beauty of the book is in the detailed pictures on each page. Each two-page spread contains images of several items to "find" on the page. For example, here's a picture of a goldfish, now find a goldfish on the page. It's easy enough that my toddler can play by herself.

One good feature about this book is that the pages and the cover are water-resistant. A much appreciated feature for a book that lives in the bathroom!

We were hoping that this book would be clear and simple, along the lines of Elmo's "Big Enough for a Bed" and would be helpful in teaching our toddler to understand the potty and how to use it. Rather, this book is less a teaching aid and more of an activity book. It has a lot of activities and each page is very "busy." We wanted a simpler book that would be an aid in teaching our toddler how to use the potty. Once a kid knows how to use the potty this book is probably good for them while they are sitting on their potty.

The book itself is well constructed. The book cover is thick and cushiony with board pages. The book doesn't consist of many pages maybe about 14 pages. The story content is very short and very loosely connected to pottying. This book is mostly a look and find book and even then there are only a few items to look for. At the end of the book, it suggests other things to look for. My daughter is only 19 months was trying to see if I could get a book to get her interested in the idea of pottying but the book itself even as a look and find did not really hold her attention. She loves elmo but this book didn't seem to interest her at all. Could be a fun book for look and find but not for my daughter, maybe when she is a little older.

I think this is a great book for potty training kids while they spend time in the bathroom. Especially because it is a look and see book. It is also great for helping develop vocabulary skills as you find and discuss objects on each page.

I gave it a three stars because the book is big and heavy. It is difficult for a toddler to hold on their own without placing on the floor. If you are using it as a "special potty book" while they are in the bathroom then that is functionally difficult.

My grandsons loved this book...it is a seek and find for them while waiting on the potty. When we were potty training this was always the first book of their choosing. The book is large the pages are sturdy and its gone through 6 boys +...cute pictures and highly recommended!

My two year old is obsessed with Elmo, and loves this book. She knows how to say "Elmo potty," but unfortunately her enthusiasm hasn't translated to getting her butt on the potty. I agree with the reviewer who said they wished it showed Elmo actually sitting on the potty - weird, I know, but that's how they learn best now. But the book itself is good for finding objects & expanding vocab. Not indestructible - she ripped off most of the back cover & pulled out the padding.

We've been working really hard on potty training and my son is doing great! I got this book as a "reward" for doing well with the potty. He loves it! It's a HUGE book! He loves looking for all the items on the pages and talking about each scene. It does have some helpful dialogue about using the potty but mostly this is just a fun book with lots of bright colored pictures.

My son loves this book and requests to look at it all the time. I've taken one star off because after reading it he did not rip his diaper off, relieve himself in the potty and declare himself potty trained. He still poops his pants.

Oh and because it was a bit more beat up than advertised and had some random stickers all over it. It didn't hurt my feelings but it was said to be in a bit better condition than having been vandalized by a pre-schooler. Still readable though.
