Top customer reviews
But, beyond all that, it was a fun and witty ride! I really liked both main characters. I loved how they totally got each other and never fell for each other's BS. The dialogue was funny and smart, and there was great chemistry between H/ h. As is usual, the story was packed full of quirky side characters, and there was even a little suspense thrown in there with a couple of unexpected twists. Will I read this one over and over again? Maybe not...but all in all I was happy to see SEP getting at least somewhat back on track.
First Star is classic SEP. Piper is a terrific Shero. She's smart, loyal, and hysterically funny. She has a few commitment issues, which lead to the most character appropriate resolution ever. Piper is determined to do what's best for Coop, regardless of what Coop believes. Her investigation firm brings Coop into her sights.
Coop has recently retired as QB from our favorite Chicago football team. He has opened a club, but things may not be running as smoothly a Coop thinks. Piper susses out the truth, much to Coop's chagrin. Piper isn't his normal type, but he can't get her out of his mind.
Everything about First Star worked for me. Humor, character development, great secondary characters, Heath and Annabelle, Phoebe...Classic SEP.
Bottom line- terrific story, funny and smart. A great addition to one of the best series ever.
I've been hooked on SEP since I first discovered her a zillion years ago (sorry SEP...I'm dating us both! Wait. That sounded wrong didn't it?) She has yet to disappoint.
Yes this is a book in a series. Do you have to read them all or in order? Nope. Do I? Kinda sorta. I did the first time around but after re-reading her books probably 3 or 4 times since I forget what the order is. My point being is they are easily stand alone books but I HIGHLY recommend you get them all. Yes. They are that good!
