I have read some of the modern Sweet Grove romances and it was interesting to see how Sweet Grove started.
This is the first book I have read by Emily Murdoch. Her writing drew me in and was paced well. I felt like I really got to know the main characters throughout the book.
I received an ARC of this book and have voluntarily provided an honest review.
I received an ARC from the author for my honest review. It was my pleasure to read and review.
Elizabeth is alone, traveling about to find her sister. She happens upon as orchard and there is a For Sale sign. She decides she must buy it as it just makes her feel like it is home.
As she wanders around looking at the property she meets Jonathon and it is not a cordial meeting. Even though he no longer owns Sweet Grove, he can't leave it, he feels close to the land. His sister, AbigaiI lives with him.
Elizabeth buys the orchard. Jonathon and Abigail stay on and Jonathon agrees to teach Elizabeth how to raise apples. They go through rough spots as she learns.
Will there a HEA? Read and find out for yourself.
What I still want to know is:
- Who started that fire and why?
- Where is Katherine (Elizabeth's sister, whom Elizabeth has been trying to find for 5 years)? Is Katherine okay? What made her run away? I definitely want to read her story!
- Will Jonathan's sister, Abigail, get her own story? I hope so!
I received a free advance copy of this book in return for an honest review.
I believe my favorite scene involved the purchase and riding of bikes!
I adored this story. Ms. Murdoch knows how to write about characters that I care about and am interested in. This book contained it all-strong characters, mystery and romance. I look forward to reading more in this new series.
