Product Description

From the Manufacturer

The First Years Wave Stroller-Easier for You, More Comfortable for your Baby. Finally a stroller that is durable and, yes, with comfortably fits your little one up to 50 pounds. The Wave is really a seat within a seat that changes from a bassinet for the infant to a toddler seat. And with a simple twist of the handle the Wave goes from a rear facing to a forward facing stroller. Keep your eye on your infant simply by twisting the release handle and raising the handle, give it a quick spin and the seat is in the rear facing mode. You can watch over your little one and they can watch over you. Still using an Infant car seat. The First Years' Via Infant Car Seat snaps easily into the Wave frame. And our universal attachment (included) means you can use many of our competitors seats as well. As your infant begins their toddler years, simply twist, release and spin again to the forward facing mode and your little one has their own view of the world. The larger wheels, 7" diameter in the front and 11" diameter in the rear, allows your stroller to glide over any surface. Worried about keeping your little one in their seat. The addition of the five point harness means your little one is securely seated. And for you, the taller, adjustable handles mean no more hitting the back side of the stroller or the wheels while you go for that afternoon walk or trip to the mall. Sunny day no worries, the fully adjustable and removable (for those cloudy days) canopy means your little one will always ride in the comfort of shade. And if your little one starts to nod off during your long afternoon walk, simply use the recline feature and they can comfortably snooze while you continue on your way. The underneath storage provides plenty of room for your diaper bag and any other "extras" you bring or buy along the way. And when you stop along the way, the rear wheel brakes will allow the stroller to stay in place. The Wave stroller features an easy one hand fold and weighs only 24 pounds.

I fell in love with this stroller and raved about it to all my family and friends. The ability to turn the seat from bassinet to seat, the swivel, the wheels, the light-weight, and mostly how my baby apparently loves it, prefers to sleep in it versus his crib most nights, and I can just leave him in it next to my bed at night.

Then, 2 months of normal, careful use, the handle does not go down with the baby facing me, only if he faces away from me! Also, when I try to fold the base, it keeps jamming, so I have to use both hands to "help" it fold up while pulling the handle and pushing the button. Very inconvenient!

I want to send it back, but am worried they will not refund after 2 months of use...?

First of all, the features on this stroller for the price cannot be beat. However, don't expect it to have $1000 performance. There is so much to say about this stroller. I think it will be easiest to list the pros and cons.

PROS
-It's a head turner. All of the reviews are true...you will get many, many compliments on this stroller (and that's without them knowing all the features it has!) Everyone thinks it's a much more expensive stroller.

-The basinet feature is awesome for sleeping little ones. You can begin using this stroller much sooner than other strollers. I used the basinet feature much more than the carseat and adapter. My carseat (Chicco Keyfit 30) was too hot for my son, and the bassinet was more comfortable and gave him more space.

-The swivel is amazing! You really do get oohs and ahhhs when people see you flip baby around. I can't even tell you the many different ways I have used this! I have even just turned it to the side at restaurants or just to change a diaper.

-The shade is the best I have ever had. Living in Hawaii, the shade is necessary. I have owned many strollers, and this one is the best by far. I can get full coverage on baby with being able to turn him away from the sun and the 3/4 shade. Perfect.

-Telescoping handle. Perfect for the different heights of everyone who pushes baby...from my 6 year old to my 6' dad.

-Light weight and very manuverable.

CONS

-The folding mechanism can be a nightmare. If you saw a woman swearing at the stroller in the mall parking garage, it was probably me. Sorry. This is the part that turned my husband off of this stroller. Unlike the other reviewers, I was always able to get it folded after wrestling with it.

PROS:
Excellent all terrain stroller
Turns into pram position easily and quickly
Super easy to make it facing you or away

CONS (knocked one star off):
Hard to access basket
Bulky and hard to fold to store in the car

We use this stroller daily to walk in our neighborhood. I have a different stroller that lives in the car which makes life a ton easier.
This stroller is excellent for walks to and through the park. Basket is hard to access when tryign to put a diaper bag in it. We now use it as "deconstructed" diaper bag and just through a small wet bag with diaper change and the blanket without bulky bag to simplify access. Pram conversion is great.

Overall this is a great stroller!

This stroller was not worth the money, I lived in Germany when I purchased it. Not only did I need to pay a crazy amount of money to have it sent to an APO address but then when it came to the real test of an European style stroller, the cobble stone won. The stroller had a convienent easy appearance but it was always an issue some how. It was very cute and did have nice features I the bassinet/car seat options

I have to admit that initially this stroller got my attention because 1) it is not a chico/graco that everyone has and 2)it has a high-end look at a bargain price. This is a man's stroller...all the others I've looked were too "mom'ish" for me...no offense moms out there..but I needed something both my wife and I could use.

I didn't want to pay over $500 for a microlite or bugaboo but I really wanted that look. This stroller gave me that.

After 7 months of ownership, it has held up well, and has become one of my favorite household items.
The bassinet mode is great when my little one is in deep sleep, but he prefers to be in the seated position..sometimes facing mom/dad, sometimes facing out. It's great!! Let's just say when we put him in this stroller, he never asks to be taken out :)
We have never used the car seat attachment. When Baby is asleep in car, we'll put stroller in bassinet mode and transfer him that way.

Pros*
Handles like a dream
Modern look
Bassinet mode
Ability to switch positions
Takes 30 seconds to set up

Cons*
It will take up a bit of trunk space. If you have a compact or sub-compact, this could be an issue for you.

My son weighs about 27 pounds and is 19 months old. I have been looking for a stroller to replace my Joovy Kooper (which was a great hybrid of a full-size and umbrella stroller) but was also too low to the ground. I noticed more and more with the Kooper that my son was getting irritable in the stroller and wanting to see everything around him. I was concerned that the Wave would not fit him- since some of the other reviews commented that their toddlers did not fit comfortably in the seat and it was better for infants and small babies.

I took him for his first ride in The Wave this afternoon. First, I have to say I am not a handy person at all and without looking at the directions, I was able to assemble the stroller from the box in less than 10 minutes. The stroller seems very durable and made with quality fabric. The spin/rotating seat feature that I was so excited about works easily. My one question would be why the instruction manual says not to reverse/"spin" the seat with child inside...I assumed that was the point of the feature so that if for example, we were walking and the sun was in my baby's eyes, I could easily turn him in the opposite direction without removing him from the stroller and flipping the entire seat around like other model strollers.

Anyway, the stroller turns on a dime- with one hand! It has HUGE wheels- bigger than I expected or could tell from the pictures. However, since we recently moved from South Florida to Virginia, the terrain is a little more hilly and this stroller rolls over grass and gravel with ease or minimal effort, similar to the feel of a jogging or all-terrain stroller. I have to say another great feature is the stroller parking brake. There is only one brake- on the right rear wheel.
