i bought my unit online from its always lessers at plessers and got 5% off by calling into their sales team, that paired with free shipping no tax and a free 10 year warranty made the price tag of the fisher and paykel refrigerator much lower. i saved several hundred dollars.
Oh, and I contacted Fisher and paykel directly to get pictures of all the models I was interested in as well as their features, they will email you a document of their catalog which I found very helpful. These models don't have many pictures on the web
This one is junk in comparison. From the very start the doors would not close by themselves. We had the level adjusted twice. The problem seems to be that there is a flap in between the doors that has to fold out of the way every time the doors open or close. This appears to add enough friction or resistance that the door stops with about an inch or two to go. I think the designers knew about this problem, because they provided a bell that sounds if the door is not closed tightly. It would have been better to have redesigned the door.
Then about a year ago or so, the ice maker died. It never worked well. The ice was dumped in a bin where it froze into a solid mass in a few days. I would not pay to have it fixed because it was bad even when it was working. Now we use ice trays. We dump the ice cubes in the same bin and they never freeze into a solid mass.
I will never buy another product from this company.
If it was reasonably priced, I would have given it 2 stars, maybe 3, but at this price, it should work flawlessly.
