I bought this for our third son. When I read the reviews I was a little leary of the "pee shield," however, after seeing this potty in the store, I thought I'd take my chances. Amazon.com had a fantastic price that I could not pass up!

I had potty trained my first two sons right after their second birthdays and had great success using another Fisher-Price potty. I had every intention of training our youngest immediately following his second birthday as well. As my other two boys are 8 and 10 years older than my youngest, I was in need of a new training potty. After receiving the Cheer for Me! potty, we fell in love with the adorable design! Our, then, almost-two-year-old wanted to immediately "use" the potty!

Yes, the seat does comes off very easily. In my opinion, that's a GOOD thing as it makes for really easy cleaning. And as for the "pee shield," I had absolutely NO problems with it whatsoever. I do not know why several reviewers disliked the design or why they had issue with it, but we had no problems. Perhaps it was because my son, having just turned two years, was a bit smaller than the children who were having problems with the shield? It may be dependent upon the size of your child. My two year old is just a bit over average in his weight and is average height...perhaps that will be helpful to someone??

The music is adorable and my son sang along with it. The potty has two different songs that alternate. One sings about the toilet paper, the other about being "big" and using "my own potty." The potty instructs the child to "flush the potty" when the song ends saying, "Now it's time to flush the potty!" Thus, my son would sit and wait for the instruction and proceed to "flush" his potty. He has now been trained for three weeks. While he still occasionally uses his Cheer for Me! potty, we are using the "big" potty now, especially for "#2."

The Cheer for Me! potty is a wonderfully fun training tool that was immensely successful in assisting us in potty training our 2 year old. I found nothing negative about the design. I can absolutely say it ranks with the best training potties!

Purchased this for my daughters baby shower...I have a friend who used and now using it again for child #2 and the kids love it! So seeing it with my own eyes how they love this I had to purchase it...It looks just like a real potty only with a smiley face! it has a handle so child can flush with flushing sound, lid opens and closes easily..fits perfectly on a regular toilet seat you just need to push it down until it snaps/clicks and its nice and snug so it doesn't slide from side to side or come off..to remove it just push the clips underneath and it comes right off..my favorite part to this is the music senor...the kids love this the most and want to potty only for that purpose...once a child goes potty it just takes little not much to sound off the music..it has a few different tunes too! this product is strong, and easy to clean. I highly recommend this product! If I didn't see how my friends children (which I've babysat many times) love this and use it I would have never thought of purchases this myself.

I own three of these toilets. The first two I purchased are wonderful. The one at my house and the babysitters works perfectly. The boy splash guard does what it is supposed to do. It is removable, but it didn't take long to teach my son not to touch it. I purchased a third toilet to keep at grandma's house and was incredibly disappointed to receive a toilet with a molded seat and splash guard. We have had more accidents with this toilet because the guard is not concave enough and high enough. My poor mother (grandma) has messes to clean up all of the time and my son has to get a change of clothes regularly.

This toilet is fine for a girl, but buyer beware for boys.

So what reminded me I wanted to leave a review for this item? Sitting here listening to the stupid potty sing 5 times in a row randomly for no reason. More often than not, it does not sing when my child actually goes but later when it's completely dry and no one's touching it. Don't leave this thing in your kid's bedroom or it may very well wake them up! The design for removing the cup is annoying too. Way too easy for a toddler to mess with constantly. I am against worthless hunks of plastic but this did serve one important purpose. The dorky music and design did help my 2.5 yo finally sit on a potty. The Bjorn potty is a much better design and quality IMO but he refused to go near it. So quality aside, it may help if you have a potty reluctant child...

Great potty! Two things to consider!

I am currently using this potty so haven’t tested all the features fully like using the seat on the big toilet and to be honest I’ve purchased a seat for the big toilet separately from another brand as I like them to fit tight so there’s no movement from the seat and so it feels secure, that way they don’t worry about falling down the hole (I had this problem with my oldest) haha...
First of all I just want to say this potty has worked wonders! My little girl loves it and after a week of potty training she was using it! She’s 21 months, can easily sit on and off it by herself although a slight down fall is that there is no grip at the base of the potty so if it’s on wood flooring or tiles it does slide about. This is a bit annoying but not to much of a problem for us and you can always prop it against a wall I guess. For this reason, for sturdiness I would give it a 4/5, everything else is sturdy and well made.
The only other thing that I dislike about the potty is the grooves in the bowl that catches the wees and poos. I’ve attached a photo and put arrows so you can see the grooves I am talking about. When your child wees it’s fine and very easy to clean! However if she/he poos it can be a bit of a pain! It does go into the grooves and this makes cleaning more difficult. I guess it’s a minor but if you’re slightly OCD like me, this is annoying (I have found that scrubbing the grooves with a small old paint brush and some flash with bleach removed everything though!).
Overall I would definitely recommend this potty for anyone considering a potty to train their little one on!
What I like most about this potty is the music it makes once your little one has been to the toilet, it lets you know they have been and my little girl loves to cheer when she hears it, it’s very encouraging! Lots of people said it’s quiet but I think it’s okay!
Even though it has two slight downfalls for me this doesn’t outweigh all the positives and the fact that it’s done the job and my little girl is now fully potty trained in just under 2 weeks after a reluctant start initially haha!

This is a sturdy little potty. Extremely easy to assemble I did it one handed whilst trying to take video, you do need a small screwdriver to lock in the batteries. We have two different toilet seats in our bathrooms. The wooden one fitted perfect & white toilet seat slightly moved not so much that it would fall in in toilet though. It plays a tune every time it’s used. Love how it holds the toilet roll too. The little green seat support stops little boys weeing out the front with them sitting down. Whilst I have not used it on my grandson yet who is 2, I can not wait for him to arrive on Monday.

We waited until christmas day and we were looking forward to using this, with the sounds and lights. But nothing!!!! It just didn't work. No sounds, no lights and I can't even return it now because its impossible to dismantle it and re-package for return. Wish I could give it no stars!!!!.

A review to consider...

Gimmick-y with a deceptive flush and small hole

As a potty it is not great at all. The guard is so short wee can easily fly over it! The we potty hole is tiny for my small 2.5 year old. The poo surprisingly goes in but sometimes leaves behind residue on the seat.

The music feature didn't work well. After washing the potty the music would go off just by walking by or tapping it. I realised later you would have to dry the potty after washing after every use!

It's easy to clean as the bowl is removable but the gaurd area is not easy to clean and wee gets stuck there. Needs frequent submerging into detergent and water.

The flush does NOT make a sound! This is deceptive, the flush clicks thanks to a crank attached but no flushing sound.

The only good thing I discovered recently was it's use as a toilet seat. It still has the problem of the guard being too low and the hole very small but it clicks easily into place (standard oval toilet) this means that it does not shift or budge and my son loves that sturdiness! Easily clicks off too
