Roarin' Good Times Ahead
The Fisher-Price Imaginext Castle Dragon is no ordinary dragon. The handle on the Castle Dragon’s back controls the action. Squeeze it and the dragon “rooaarrss”! Another squeeze and the dragon lunges forward and grabs with its mouth – dinner could be an unlucky knight or a ball. Squeeze the handle again and the dragon “spits” it out. Another squeeze adds sound effects to the fun. For children ages 3-8 years.
What Does It Do?
When the Imaginext Eagle Talon Castle Dragon is lifted by the handle, his wings extend and he’s ready to take to the skies to terrorize the kingdom. Cool light up features like glowing eyes and an illuminated stomach will take this play to another level. ActionTech technology, the latest in interactive toys, is built in. Bring the dragon to the Eagle Talon Castle and it will recognize and respond to the dragon with different speech and sounds, such as, “Incoming dragon – take cover” and “Don’t be dinner!"
How Does It Help My Child Develop?
Imagination and creativity fly on the wings of this dragon. Make-believe and fantasy allow children the opportunity to be silly, the bad-guy or good-guy, the powerful scary beast, or the beloved pet. And making the dragon fly will increase dexterity and hand and arm strength. Using these Action Tech toys, a child can control all the action, experience self-expression, and practice conflict resolution through pretend play. Will the dragon make it past the castle gates? Who will tame the dragon? It’s a new adventure every time kids play.
Isn’t It Amazing?
Watching their faces light up as they explore, discover, and play - all those moments when children learn best. That’s why Fisher-Price builds learning into everything we make, with playful ways to engage curious minds, exercise little bodies, and nurture budding personalities. Because nothing’s more amazing than sharing the joy of learning with your child.

From the Manufacturer
The Imaginext Dragon is a new twist on kid-powered adventures. With a handle on his back and the ability rear up, this Dragon is the ultimate Imaginext Dragon. Squeezing the handle will lunge his neck forward, easily grabbing things (figures, boulders) with his mouth, and when you lift him off the ground his wings will spread for a quick getaway. Equipped with “Action Tech” technology a squeeze of his handle will send a signal to the castle to warn the knights within of the approaching Dragon. He even has his own lights and sounds to have a roaring good time.

Top customer reviews
What makes it so cool? First, the character design is fantastic. It's beautifully sculpted with vibrant colors: mostly warm reds and yellows/oranges, but with steely gray accents on the horns and crest, and a tan underbelly. Even more impressive, however, are the thoughtfully designed actions: spreading/retracting wings, rotating hips, and a ridiculously cool "surge forward and chomp" biting action. To put it over the top, Fisher-Price threw in some wonderful sound effects as well, including some varied screeches, a chewing noise as the mouth snaps shut, and a fantastic defiant screech whenever the dragon settles back down onto its hindquarters after flying. These sounds are evocative and clear, but mercifully brief and moderate in volume so as not to annoy parents or become mind-numbingly repetitive. (They can also be switched off.)
When you grab the handle on the dragon's back, you can squeeze the trigger to operate his "surge forward and chomp" biting action, or you can lift him into the air: as soon as his feet leave the ground, his wings spread for flight! (and retract again when he is re-seated on a hard surface). Since the rear legs rotate, you can also lever backward to raise him up onto his hindquarters and spread his wings that way (picture a rearing horse, except way cooler and with a monstrous screech). The tail also rotates up and down to look more docile (tail down) or threatening (tail raised--like a scorpion's stinger).
Lastly, this toy is ruggedly built. My two daughters (ages 1.5 and 3.5) have been loving this toy. They chase each other around the house with it, alternately screaming and giggling as it chomps at them. (The trigger is too stiff for my younger daughter to operate the mouth, and it's a bit of a challenge for my older daughter also, but they can push or pull forward on the neck to achieve the same effect.) We use it mainly as a secret weapon (made in an "evil scientist's lab" of course) that our G. I. Joe soldiers have to battle. Naturally, a lot of joes get chewed up by the dragon before they take it down! :)
If you're looking for a cool action figure, this is about as cool as they get. This one is also colorfully designed and ruggedly built for small children. I give it my highest recommendation! I'm not a toy collector (I've never believed in leaving toys in the original packaging... even before I saw the movie Toy Story), but I can guarantee you that, about three decades from now, there will be a huge "nostalgia" market of collectors looking for "mint condition" versions of this toy to relive fond memories. Heck, I might even be one of them!
It's really a nice toy, but a little expensive. Though I got it when Amazon had it half-priced, it was still expensive. I wanted to keep it in my house, but it would have broken my grandson's heart. So I asked my daughter to help take care of it. I intend to buy the castle, so having the dragon functional for the castle would be nice.
The wing fabric is fragile, which is not a plus. Hopefully it won't be broken off. The wings spreads when flying the dragon. With practice, the mouth picks up some items quite well. The plastic is hard and durable. The dragon is huge and heavy. Not much more to say, other than it pleases my grandson. This is all that matters. Can't wait to get other pieces to pull everything together for him to have the full experience of imaginary play.
