This has been really nice for protecting the iPad from babies and the babies from the iPad, but you'll have to modify it just a tad to get full use out of it. Works fine with my iPad 3.

The two main problems are:
1.) Can't turn it on/off (or recharged) without removing iPad from case.
2.) Some apps may have areas of the screen you want to protect against the babies pressing.

For the first - I set the iPad to automatically turn off after 15 minutes of being left alone, then drilled a small hole over the Home button. Now I can turn it on with a pen, and it'll turn itself off when they're done with it. Don't have to recharge nearly so often.

For the second - I found that cutting a thin piece of cardboard in the shape of the area you want to protect works wonders. The fit is tight enough that there's no need to use tape or glue - it'll stay in place. I had a piano app with a config button that allowed them to get to Facebook and iTunes, but with the cardboard - problem solved.

I like this case. I probably would not buy it again though. Here's why: It's expensive for what you're getting. It adds a good amount of size and weight to your iPad but I guess it has to in order to make your iPad rugged. I tested this with a first generation iPad and the fit is perfect. I can't speak on later versions of the iPad and whether or not they would rattle around inside this case. It's difficult to dry this thing after washing it because internally, there are lots of little spaces where water can get caught. You do not want your iPad in this thing unless it's completely dry. The screen produces a lot of air bubbles (the same air bubbles that you get when applying a protective screen to your iPad). The flaps in the back that pop up to make a stand are worthless. Laying the iPad flat on a table with one of the flaps popped up does not raise the iPad high enough for children to see and use the iPad. The toys in the handle just get in the way. Without the toy rings in the handle, it makes for a great handle. But with the toys in there, it makes carrying the iPad with the handle difficult. The free apps are fun and interactive but you do not need to purchase this case to buy them. Just search for "Laugh & Learn" in the App Store. There are 4 apps in all.

Works great with an iPad 1!

This is a great case for protecting an IPad from the onslaught of a 15 month old. I feel 100% confident the iPad is safe in there, as long as she doesn't have anything nearby that she can bang on the screen with. The screen cover is a thin and flexible plastic sheet, so if she got something hard in her hands and started banging on the screen, she MIGHT be able to break the screen, I doubt she has the strength for that, though. That is a problem with the iPad rather than with this case.

My only problem with the case is that you have no access to any of the ports or buttons while the iPad is in the case. That means the iPad has to come out for charging, changing the volume, or hitting the home button. We set the iPad controls up to turn off after 10 minutes and we turned off the multitasking gestures. We also turned on the assistive touch so that we can control it with gestures she's not likely to simulate. That seems to be working great for us!

Our daughter got her very own iPad 1 when mommy and daddy upgraded, so we can leave her iPad in the case and only take it out for charging. I would not want to use this case if we were sharing an iPad with her, as taking the iPad out and putting it back in can be a bit of a hassle.

I bought this as a present for my 18 month old niece and her "pad pad". I was pretty stocked, it's cheap and looks cute. Well I didn't open it when I got it in the mail, just wrapped it up and waited until Christmas. Bad idea. When we finally broke into the amazing frustration free packaging and attempted to situate the iPad for its now safe journey off the couch, we were met with frustration. There is a semi hard plastic covering over the screen which I don't remember reading about. Ok that's fine I can live with that. There is NO way to charge the iPad while in the case and NO way to turn the screen off in it as well. To take the back off you need a coin of sorts and you better get proficient at producing a coin because if anything needs done with the iPad you're gonna need to take this case off.

I was really hoping this would make lives easier and not harder, which it seemed to do stunningly.

I have an iPad 2 and wanted somthing my 1.5 year old can use. This case protects my iPad very well. It's supper cute my daughter loves it. It's very durable aswell she threw my iPad down the sofa and it did no harm. The only thing you can't do is charge Ur device in the case, but that's totally fine. As for apps you simple go to the App Store and get a free fisher price app

I bought this on CL from another mom for $20 because my 14 month old (who's played with an ipad since 2 month of age) kept pressing the Home button on the apps Not the round home button and the add bar at the bottom of the apps . This AD Bar appeared even when the Wi-Fi was turned off . Those of you having the same problems This case is NO help for that . The case also is without a stand Up bar so that the case is either going to be flat or in a rocking position never straight up and down which sucks. The case is sturdy so far (he likes to put all of his weight (22.lbs) on it ond i like the carry handle. Why the heck would they NOT give access to the on and off buttons I don't know but for now it is what it is.
