The two main problems are:
1.) Can't turn it on/off (or recharged) without removing iPad from case.
2.) Some apps may have areas of the screen you want to protect against the babies pressing.
For the first - I set the iPad to automatically turn off after 15 minutes of being left alone, then drilled a small hole over the Home button. Now I can turn it on with a pen, and it'll turn itself off when they're done with it. Don't have to recharge nearly so often.
For the second - I found that cutting a thin piece of cardboard in the shape of the area you want to protect works wonders. The fit is tight enough that there's no need to use tape or glue - it'll stay in place. I had a piano app with a config button that allowed them to get to Facebook and iTunes, but with the cardboard - problem solved.
This is a great case for protecting an IPad from the onslaught of a 15 month old. I feel 100% confident the iPad is safe in there, as long as she doesn't have anything nearby that she can bang on the screen with. The screen cover is a thin and flexible plastic sheet, so if she got something hard in her hands and started banging on the screen, she MIGHT be able to break the screen, I doubt she has the strength for that, though. That is a problem with the iPad rather than with this case.
My only problem with the case is that you have no access to any of the ports or buttons while the iPad is in the case. That means the iPad has to come out for charging, changing the volume, or hitting the home button. We set the iPad controls up to turn off after 10 minutes and we turned off the multitasking gestures. We also turned on the assistive touch so that we can control it with gestures she's not likely to simulate. That seems to be working great for us!
Our daughter got her very own iPad 1 when mommy and daddy upgraded, so we can leave her iPad in the case and only take it out for charging. I would not want to use this case if we were sharing an iPad with her, as taking the iPad out and putting it back in can be a bit of a hassle.
I was really hoping this would make lives easier and not harder, which it seemed to do stunningly.

This is the fourth case I've bought! Fisher Price should really look into making cases for adults. The iPad is virtually indestructible when you use this thing! Read morePublished 8 days ago by Claudine Jaboro
