I recall having a Fisher Price school house. And, it was sooo much nicer than this one. This is like one of those older tin lunch boxes we used in the 70's. I wish the quality of product was there, but sad to say it's not. I'd love to be able to buy a 70's version of the school house, or all the little people for that matter.
Shop at garage sales instead to find the classic version instead.

The Little People -- a nice size, satisfying to hold, and fun to play with. Nicely put together, and more interesting to look at and play with than the "modern" Little People, which are just one piece of injection-molded plastic (or some such thing). One complaint, however, is that the Dog is a little bit too big and doesn't fit as easily into the merry-go-round or chairs.

The chair, desk, and merry-go-round -- cute, sturdy, and simple.

The schoolhouse (box) -- This is the major flaw of this set. The big draw of the Fisher Price sets that a lot of us played with as kids was that you could place the figures in the house/barn/etc. and really be drawn into the imaginary world of these little people. You could open and close the door, look into the windows, and so on. Probably as a cost-saving measure, this school set is designed so that the schoolhouse is a hinged box that doesn't have any real doors or windows, or any details inside the schoolhouse such as a blackboard.

Fisher Price really missed the boat here. I personally wouldn't have bought this toy; it was given as a gift to my 1-year-old. Unfortunately, I don't think he will be drawn to it as much as he would be to a better version of this set.

So, so sad. Nothing like one I had as a kid. "Schoolhouse" doesn't open up like the old one (like a dollhouse)-it's just a dumb plastic box. Then you get 1 (giant) student, 1 teacher, 1 dog (?!). How are you supposed to play school with 1 student? My 3 year old son was done playing with this in 3 minutes flat. They could have made the people not quite this big or given them arms to avoid the chocking hazard, and kept the playhouse style. Waste
Of plastic.

Fisher Price toys have been our choice for 40 years! Our four children and 12 grandchildren enjoy them very much! This toy is such a happy memory of the history of Fisher Price! Our two year old granddaughter knew just what to do with every piece. I highly recommend this product for durability, appeal, and craftmanship! Fisher Price is the first place I look to buy my toys!

I agree with two of the other reviewers, I was very disappointed with the Play 'n Go School and decided to return it. I was hoping for something closer related to the "old school" FP toys. I admit I'm 76 ....but still have the FP house with most of the parts, and my great-grandchildren play with it whenever they visit, just as their parents, uncles, aunts and grandparents did for the past 50+ years ago I was expecting something closer to the original old school house with all the parts closing off inside, a real chalk board on the roof, magnetic letters, etc. After researching further on Fisher Price, I found a "Little People Musical Preschool Playset" which doesn't close up, but offers so much more .... more challenge for imaginative play. I just wish Fisher would remember how great it is to be able to put all the accessories inside and close up and carry a toy like this ---- they did it before. Wish I had kept more of the things my girls used, but the they probably went to their children. Oh well, I'm so very thankful to be enjoying my Great-grandchildren and able to still be buying them Christmas Gifts. Happy Holidays to everyone!!!!

Ok i remember the origainal version and it was WAY nicer and had more to it. This is just a lunch box thing with 3 people and desks and a wheel. That said My 1 year old LOVES it, it is a toy she gets out every day to play with. She can throw everything in the box and carry it around and i am shocked! But its what she like so i guess it is a good toy as long as you don't remember what the original was like!

After watching a little one play with the old Fisher Price school house, with the real chalkboard and inside looking like a schoolhouse, I was very disappointed that this one is just a carrying case. The figures don't match the size of the school. Really, really disappointed in Fisher-Price for downgrading this toy.

I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because at least I appreciate that they tried to make a retro version of Little People. I like the 70's Little People waaay better than the newer stuff (that's coming from a 32 year old trying to buy cute stuff for my 4 year old). I am so so disappointed in the scale of this set. The pieces look huge to me compared to the cute little vintage ones. I guess maybe the size of the 70's ones posed a choking hazard. But then again I see that THIS set has a choking hazard warning on it as well. Really? Everything looks huge! Fisher Price, please try again to make the retro style, only the same scale it used to be
