Fisher-Price
For the Best Possible Start
To give your child the best possible start in life, you don’t have to have all the answers or do things a certain way. All you have to do is the best you can, and let your kids play. At Fisher-Price, we’re dedicated to helping you do just that by working tirelessly to bring you the very best gear and toys. Fisher-Price toys are made to help all kids—from infants to toddlers to preschoolers—develop through play, in their own ways, because that’s how they learn best at each age and stage. And for babies, our gear offers simple solutions (more sleep, anyone?!) you can’t possibly parent without.
Develop & grow
As babies play, they’re developing in so many ways! Dancing lights and bright colors enhance visual skills; playful fun tunes, sounds and textures stimulate baby’s senses of hearing and touch. As baby explores on the comfy mat, linking toys and mirror encourage tummy-time play, building upper body strength and self-discovery. Rewarding lights and music help baby understand cause and effect while busy activities like a spinner parrot paddle and rattle elephant strengthen fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.

Rainforest friends everywhere baby looks!
The magical world of the rainforest comes to life with music, lights, nature sounds, and lots of activities and textures to stimulate your growing baby! The comfy floor quilt has a soft, silky border and colorful arches supported by a friendly giraffe. A variety of links let you attach toys up above or down below. Rainforest friends are everywhere—a soft monkey, jingly toucan, elephant and parrot with spinning paddle and more! Movable and stationary toys encourage exploration on the overhead gym or for tummy-time play. Baby can also enjoy a spinner with rattling beads, spinning butterflies, a shiny mirror and a crinkly leaf for peek-a-boo fun. Lively rainforest sounds and music play for up to 20 minutes. Includes volume control for quiet play.

Another way to play
Use the linkable mirror to show baby his reflection. Then bring baby around the house to look into different mirrors and shiny surfaces—he can see his smile everywhere!

The activity gym's comfy floor quilt has a soft silky border and colorful arches supported by a friendly giraffe. A variety of links let you attach toys up above or down below. Baby can also enjoy a spinner with rattling beads, spinning butterflies, a shiny mirror and a crinkly leaf for peek-a-boo fun. With this activity gym you can choose four fun tunes or rainforest sounds to play for baby for up to 20 minutes. Activity gym requires three C (LR14) alkaline batteries. This product has a “baby activated” mode. It is indicated on the switch by either a rattle icon or an icon of a baby’s face. If the customer has the gym set to baby mode, the product appears not to work. The only way it works in baby mode is when the baby moves enough to cause one of the legs to jiggle and activate the sensor. The customer can switch out of baby mode to activate the gym.

You can rearrange the toys included. Setup is very easy. The mat is padded and a silky texture. It has nice small features for small hands to fiddle with. Not a sensory revolution, but my son's have both enjoyed the leaf that crinkles. Either by kicking it for the noise or by lifting it to reveal the hidden smiling character underneath.
You'll find that the bottom surface that is the base and floor covering aspect of this play mat is easily removed for cleaning. Here's a tip: Look for the small plastic lips that are made into the bottom of the support poles. You might happen to overlook this small feature while assembling or reassembling. l've found that by keeping these hooked, the mat will stay laid out smoothly and will look nicer if you have all four in place. I think you'll find it a time saver not needing to straighten it out often. Especially, if you opt to leave the pay mat out on the floor between playtimes.
I do advise you to consider putting it on a floor that is carpeted or on top of a rug to provide some additional padding. The mat is slightly padded and is a highly durable and quality material. However, little ones doing tummy time may find it to be a little less than a soft landing. At least in the beginning stages of use. Again, I assume this is a safety feature.
I currently have mine on top of a plush 5'x7' rug. Previously, I had it on top of a larger area rug that had an additional thick wool rug pad underneath. That latter was probably the better of the two options. This time I chose at first to add another layer of softness under the mat and over the rug I'm using. I used a simple set of slightly padded, cotton pillow shams. (They were handy and I was being creative.) I didn't feel the need for their use after a few sessions.
*Just a reminder, you don't want to put your baby on their front for tummy time on a surface that is too soft. They are developing their strength and especially at first a surface that is too soft could pose a suffocation risk. Nonetheless, supervision does wonders for prevention.
I'm confident that this mat will be enjoyed by many other parents in the years to come. If you plan on expanding your family in the future, this is one of the items I recommend keeping in storage for future use.
Like many other parents we found this jungle theme line by Fisher Price and bought pretty much one of everything. In a lot of ways they are all very similar in form, function, and quality. And then there is this guy.
On the upside there are bunch of toys included and a bunch of places to attach more. There are a variety of songs, sounds, and lights. Our Daugherty loves the lights. And there is motion (see the negatives to follow). We liked it enough that we didn't return it to see if we had gotten a dud or this is the way it is.
Now the bad: The leaves go up and down, but they don't lock or click into place so over a fairly short period of time they work themselves out and fall off. The music will play, sometimes. Other times we move the switch and nothing happens. Squeeze around the switch and it starts right up. We also have a switch that appears to do nothing. The last thing, it will be playing quietly and then just get real loud for no reason. All of this has been going on from day one.
Having become a connoisseur of the jungle line of products there is just something about this one that doesn't fit with all of the others. I know fake products are out there, and some even find their way to Amazon. I don't know how to tell if this is, but something doesn't seem right compared to the rest of the line.

There are so many things to play with on the gym: a monkey soft toy, a parrot soft toy, a rotating wheel, butterflies hanging/swinging from the music/light box, a mirror, and a crunchy leaf.
The base is a little thin, especially if you are putting this on a wooden floor. We put a towel underneath just to give it a little more padding and to stop any cold coming up through.
The butteries swing from the top of the gym, but unfortunately are not moved by the music/light box at the top.
The gym can easily be transported. We regularly bring it to my parents house in the boot of our car. To fold it up, you simply rotate one of the arches underneath the other, and it becomes flat and can be loaded into the car. It's very easy to do.
The music/light box takes 3xAA batteries. I use the Amazon Basics NiMH 2000mAh rechargeable batteries and they seem to last forever in this. I would guess we get about a month out of a set of 3 batteries before they need recharged again. This is with almost daily use.
If I were to choose one toy for my baby, this would be it. It keeps him entertained for hours and he obviously loves it from all the giggling and laughing he does. I fully recommend it!

Lacey Mai is only 5 month old and is so eager to learn so I looked on Amazon and found this rainforest gym, it has lots of toys and sounds of the rainforest plus music too, she is very content and plays for hours , it is a fantastic product and Lacey loves everything about it.
If you are in the same boat as us then you will not go far wrong if you purchase this gym.

We could barely get the arches to stay up, and the whole thing is so flimsy it wobbled alarmingly when our babies grabbed the toys.
I would recommend buying an older model second hand as that was very sturdily constructed and my son loved it.

My 3 month old likes to look up at the lights which are gentle and not disco like at all and I love the fact that aside from the expected annoying baby tunes, it also plays rainforest sounds! That is awesome.
So far so good.. the plastic could fit together a bit better but i don't think there is any risk of it falling down onto baby if he gives it a good tug.
Baby will tell you he/she has had enough of the play gym and I guess it depends on the baby, how long they'll spent on the mat comfortably. But all in all this is a decent play gym and nice with lots of features for baby to look at an explore.
