Side Note: Amazon's frustration free packing (for this product) was simply a brown box with the disassembled product inside bagged up. I guess I kinda imagined something else. For older kids' birthdays or on Christmas this can be kind of a hassle since part of the fun of unwrapping presents is seeing the box with the picture.
I think this is really more a fun toy for them rather than an educational one, but she just loves playing with
it. Right now all the sound and activity parts of the toy interest her more than the blocks.
I think what really attracks her to it, is that it makes happy sounds and she can push things and lift up the lid etc. But I do believe that when she gets older, she will learn how to actually play with the blocks.
If you expect the blocks to be there for stacking though, I have to disappoint you a little bit. I found that blocks by itself are hard to stack because they are made of plastic and then once you do try stack them they aren't sturdy at all. I think I was kind of disappointed there.
She only plays with the blocks to shake them for right now, but I think this has to do with her age.
I personally love the ramp, and the lid with the compartment underneath where you can store everything.
I also don't think that the music is lame at all! (Like some other users have said). Yes it is short, but I think that is a good thing. (Most of it last for about 4 seconds).
Also, the toy is quite big so you actually have to think about where to put it. I would also recommend leaning it against something, because it can tip over when your baby leans on it.
( I don't blame this on the toy though I mean, it can't be made out of steel, and it is sturdy after all! It just has something to do with my daughter learning you to pull herself up and such).
I bought this toy half off and to be honest I don't know if I would have got it if it was full price .
On a final note I would say that I do recommend this toy because my daughter has so much fun playing with it and it keeps her busy for a LONG time!
My niece (5 months) is just starting to sit up on her own, and this is the perfect height for her to sit and explore. In the front there is a little thing she can spin to make sounds.
As much as she loves it I don't think it's worth $130 (as it's currently listed). I was able to buy it used through Amazon for $30.
The toy itself requires some assembly, but its fairly easy to put together. It is very colorful and the friendly faces are appealing. It can do some tricks and the music is short and not too annoying, like on other toys that can pull on parents nerves. My daughter got it when she was 9 months and she liked to manipulate the different handles and shake the little blocks. Now she is almost 13 months and it is not her most favorite toy anymore, but she still comes back to it. Now she uses it more as a step while trying to escape from her playpen.
