My son has autism qnd loves everything Thomas we have lots and lots of tracks and trains and this one was the worst we’ve bought it goes up down and back around he was bored and stopped playing with it in about ten min he occasionally will start to play with it but mostly it just sits there taking up a crazy amount of space this toy is very large and gets old very quickly my child likes being able to change the tracks around and make it his own and with this you can’t do that so for us this was a huge flop!

This is very well constructed. Not only do the pieces snap snuggle together but they are also held in place with little screws. Very sturdy. Our 4 yr old grandson loves it. He even sings while he is playing with it. There is a lot of action and different things for him to do with it.

impossible to take apart!

I got this for my GF's little boys.
It's somewhat hard to snap together but impossible to take apart; especially, any of the parts that have a circulur peg.
Whomever designed this for 3+ has no clue how to design stuff for 3 year olds because Superman couldn't take this completely apart.
Once it sets up, it's pretty cool but the engine has the tendency to derail a lot when you add the little engine and/or cargo car.
I really like the cranes and turnabout but you have to buy extra track to use the turnabout.
I grew up on the railroad with my grandfather being a railroad fireman and my father being an engineer and I worked in the railroad yards and I've only ever seen 1 turnabout and never saw it in action.
It's neat once it's set up but you better be prepared to leave it set up forever or spend a lot of time really fighting it to take it apart because your going to have several of the large parts stuck together and it won't go back in the box like that!
Really sad that this train set is truly not designed for little kids to put together and take apart!

There are only so many train set options: simple loop, figure 8, figure 8 but where they cross is a hill bridge. Then almost every set is a variation of that. This in reality is a basic loop, but it's pretty amazing for a loop set. It's huge. It has a lot of interactive parts, and it's just so different than any other set.

In some ways it's not as impressive as a really big set. Because it's compact, it doesn't seem huge. But it's 25 feet of track. The compactness is the best part! We don't have to take it apart to put it away, so it's always ready to go. (It would be a pain to take it apart and put together--that's a con if you need it to come apart!) Since you leave it together, I don't have to help my daughter put it together and we don't need extra clean-up time.

It also has three connectors on the round-about, so we can connect it to other Thomas plastic track sets. So this is a great addition to your collection. Again, I think it's especially good because it stays together. If your kid wants to play with trains and you don't want to take them out or be responsible for cleaning them up, you keep this set set up!

It works pretty well too. The train is a bit slower going up the hills, but it handles them fine. Trains going down hill can derail if you make a longer train. It works bests with just the engine, but it works well with the engine and one cart.

The cranes work great too! Cranky is a really fun crane train ride. The other two cranes and the crate chutes also work great and encourage active play.

We like this a lot. There are big sets with more to do than this, but there's no better set for little floorspace that's always up for play.

We are a Thomas the Train loving family, no joke we have multiple bins full of various trackmaster engines and multiple Costco sized bins of trackmaster tracks, we have whole containers of the minis and quite a few other ones…. Don’t judge! We have kids and we adults happen to like Thomas too! Of course we would love to get out younger 2 year old into Thomas, but he is just to young to play with 99% of the tracks/engines we have. Until now!

This Thomas and Friends Trains and Cranes set is fantastic for little ones that are to young for trackmaster but show interest in Thomas. First putting this together wasn’t nearly as hard as some of the trackmaster sets, so that’s a plus. It is a bit time consuming though, so definitely set a good hour or so aside to build this!

What I love about this set is that its not one you break down and rebuild, you just leave it built. And since it’s tall rather than wide it doesn’t take up as much room as you would think. The tracks as a whole are very sturdy and thick, much more durable than other sets we have had. Your also not limited to just the trains it comes with and can easily buy some more (or in our case dig in our garage). All of the engines I have tried this far work perfectly fine on this track. Overall love it and highly recommend for the younger Thomas fans! Though even our older 6 and 8 year olds have been seen playing with this!

My son loves the Thomas tracks, and this is another great set to add to the growing set of tracks we have. I would say that if you don't have any other sets, it may not be a good one to start with, as it only lets them go a short distance, but if you have other tracks and can connect them, it works really well as a starting point for the trains before they go onto other sets. It's very durable, works as it says it does, and it makes my kid happy.

Thomas and friends gives little ones so much to do with this set. They get a Thomas the train, a Harold the Helicopter and a Percy engine. Thomas is motorized. The tower has the favorite places that the trains go, like Tidmouth Sheds with spinning turntable, Brendam Docks with Cassia, Carly crane and Cranky the Crane, and handles to control where engines go. It is a large set and has so much to do.

Comes well packaged, relatively easy to assemble and everything clicks together nicely. It’s a very sturdy product so will withstand bumps, knocks and general abuse from children. It is a lot bigger than I imagined but is easy to just pick up and put in a cupboard when not in use.
The toy teaches kids to winch up the train and it goes down the tracks, and seems to provide hours of fun and entertainment. For what you get it’s great value and well worth it
