Fisher Space Pen Raw Brass Bullet Pen
The original Bullet Space Pen was conceived in July of 1948. Paul Fisher was soon machining a new pen design shaped from solid aluminum. This pen is now all brass with a raw brass finish.
Cited as an outstanding example of industrial art, the classic design of the Fisher Bullet Pen has been exhibited for years in the New York Museum of Modern Art. The Bullet's timeless styling has been the topic of many art books and magazine articles. Often imitated but never duplicated, the Fisher Bullet Space Pen continues to be our most popular pen.
Style: Cap Slides On & Off.
Length: Open - 5.25" Closed - 3.75".
Finish: Raw Brass.
When closed, the Bullet Space Pen is the perfect size to carry in your wallet, pocket, purse, car glove box, organizer or toolbox. When open it's a full sized, evenly balanced writing instrument.
Cartridge: Fisher Pressurized PR4 Black Ink Medium Point.
Packaging: Moonscape Gift Box with Lunar Landing Sleeve.
The Fisher Raw Brass Bullet Space Pen writes at any angle upside down underwater and in harsh temperature conditions (hot and cold). When closed this pen slightly resembles a long bullet and it is this design that has been exhibited for a number of years by New York's Museum of Modern Art as an outstanding example of contemporary industrial design. Each Fisher Bullet Space pen comes in an attractive gift box with a small pamphlet that provides the interesting history of the Fisher Space Pen. Open the Bullet measures 5.3 inches with a closed length of 3.7 inches. All the Fisher Bullet Space Pen Series contains a PR4 Black Ink Medium Point Refill.

One, it writes ALWAYS. On painted metals, wood, cold/frozen objects, smooth and textured plastics, upside down... anywhere. Two, it is made in the United States of America, so by purchasing you help employ a distant cousin. Three, it is made of SOLID raw brass that will develop a nice patina. I don't care what else you read on here about it being "plated" brass. I actually shaved a portion of the inner pen away to see if it was solid. It. Was. Go America. Four, I accidentally put this pen through the laundry and it still works after some minor maintenance. Take that Communism.
This pen will live longer than you and look better when it finally dies. And best of all, it carries my stamp of approval.
So yeah, problem is these little guys are escape artists if you're carrying them in your pants pocket. They're so smooth-sided they slip out and disappear. Really annoying.
I'm here to share a tip I've discovered that fixes this problem. Might not be best for everyone, but it's worked REALLY well for me, and it was a cheap/easy thing to do.
I added a rubber grommet around the pen itself. It cost me about a buck at a local hardware store. The rubber "ring" provides a nice amount of grippyness to the inside of the pocket, and the pen ends up not sliding around. It's also positioned where it doesn't get in the way of writing. I'll attach a couple pics.
I've had the pen a couple of weeks. I waited to submit my review, because being raw brass, I wanted to see how the patina turned out. All I did was carry it in my pocket every day, and leave it on my dresser with the cap off (I guessed this would make it patina more evenly, but not sure) at night. Of course, riding in my pocket with my keys and pocketknife, it's subject to scratches, but none are really noticeable. Let me tell you, this thing is GORGEOUS! It has a nice even patina, looks just like an old bullet casing. It's why I went with raw brass, I don't have to worry about scratches or anything flaking off.
The pen writes really well. First time, every time, and consistently. Have I written with pens that wrote better? Sure, even some cheaper pens. But those don't write in all conditions like this one. And yes, to the best of my ability, I've tested their claims (though I haven't been able to get to outer space yet.)
This pen disappears in my pocket, which to me, is its real value. Like a gun or a knife, or most other EDC items, the best one is the one you have on you when you need it.
Bottom line: I highly recommend this pen, but I would only recommend it in raw brass. I can certainly believe the reviews of other finishes that complain of their lack of durability when carried in a pocket.
And finally, I paid for this pen with my wife's own money, and have not received a discount, kick back, free haircut, or any other compensation for this review.

If you are worried about scratches & discolouration, you’d be better off purchasing the harder wearing chrome version.
Anyhoo: I got this for work, as I work at sea on vessels supporting the Oil & Gas industry. I work in places where there is a lot of tropical rainfall and with equipment that can be greasy and oily, and regular pens and notepads are often problematic.
This pen with its special pressurised ink cartridge with its thixotropic ink allows it to write in conditions that other pens just can't write in. This reduces frustration for me as I don't have to spend 20 seconds multiple times a day trying to get my pen to write.
I got the brass bullet model, the last photo you can see the patina that quickly develops, it quickly loses its shiney brass look, but I like the dull used patina look.
They are small, smart and most importantly work. When closed they fit easily and discretely into a pocket and when open they are a nice size for writing.
This space pen doesn't have a clip so something to be aware of as it will float to the bottom of a pocket rather than be hooked over the top. Reduces bulk but might not be for everyone.
There are pens that are smoother out there but I haven't found anything else to be as reliable as a Space Pen and it writes on all types of surfaces.
The only reason I have had to buy a new Space Pen is when I have lost one as they are nice and solid and perfect for an everyday pen.
I got it in brass which will of course change and patina. I personally like that but be aware, if you want it to remain mirror finish, go for chrome or similar.
The pen is a great little writer, very comfortable and efficient. Prefer it to Lamy and usually I prefer pencil for my diary to minimize bleeding through the pages but this does the job wonderfully. I like brass finish of the pen and it is developing a nice patina already.
Well priced and cheaper than I have seen it listed elsewhere.
Refills are quite expensive but last a reasonable time.
The raw copper version is the latest of four different space pens I own- I love the way it tarnished.
Incidentally it is also antibiotic.
