While he's not the most Alpha male I've ever read, Nolan was definitely a force to be reckoned with. When Charlie accepts a lawyer position in Nolan's company, she has no idea what she's signed up for. There is definitely some intrigue in the story, but the romance seemed a bit forced between Charlie and Nolan at times. I had a couple jaw-dropping moments and overall enjoyed the characters (except for Nolan's mother... What a witch!). Definitely excited to see what happens in Chase's story "Hook"!
What could a billionaire real estate mogul and a struggling phone-sex operator possibly have in common?
An instant spark that's what! I really loved Chase and Chastity. Their meeting and entire relationship kept me fully engaged in the story. I liked the plot of Hook more than the plot of Bait; it kept me more entertained and intrigued. I do wish there had been more scenes with Chastity's best friend Trina. She almost seemed to be cut from the book about half way through. There also could have been a bit more back story for Chastity, but it didn't detract from the story. Overall, I'm "hook"-ed on this series and Colleen Charles' books!
I plunged back into the world of the billionaires surrounding the Banks family. Callum is stuck up and feeling lost in the world. Lydia is a writer who is making a name for herself, and a bit obsessed with Austen era writing. I loved the subtle and obvious nods to Pride and Prejudice sprinkled throughout the book. The book made me want to re-read P&P for the millionth time. I enjoyed the tension between Callum and his brother over Lydia and life. What a wonderful book!
Rhett is a professional baseball player, emphasis on the player. Brenna is a sports journalist, first female to make a name for herself in the male run field. I'm not going to lie, I really disliked Rhett for most of the book. I eventually grew to love him, but his inner misogynistic monologue was a bit tiring. I liked the differences in Brenna before and after the accident. I loved the plot line and Ms. Charles style of writing. Definitely a good read!
What starts as a ‘fake engagement’ becomes one hell of a roller coaster ride. Nolan is absolutely smitten with Charlene de Monaco, but as his corporate attorney she knows better than to mix businesses with pleasure. Especially with someone like Nolan. A heart-jerkingly beautiful read that is fast paced and steamy.
Man-whore Chase gets shaken up with a phone call to a wrong number…. and what an exceptionally hot call that becomes. Packed full of hot suspense, a stalker, and a man that goes to great length to get his girl.
Colleen never fails to write an awesome book and this one is no different. Engaging and brilliant storytelling from start to end, Callum and Lydia experience some serious heat and a rollercoaster ride to a HEA.
I went through so many emotions reading this – anger, frustration, disbelief, disgust, sorrow, and happiness. Throw in some nice steamy scenes and you have yourself an awesome book! Rhett and Brenna are a smoking hot couple.
HOOK - Chase Bradenton is in his first year of work at Nolan Realty and wants to do a really good job. Chastity Sexe (yes, that's really her name!) meets him when he calls for his driver but gets her phone sex line instead. This is a call that is hilariously fundamental to the slow build-up of their relationship. Chastity doesn't think she is worthy of a gorgeous, wealthy man but she seems to have her hooks in him! There is quite a bit of foreshadowing that guides the plot through highs and lows with a lot of hilarious moments. The story works toward a HEA but it seems unlikely that they can get there without a lot of sacrifice and danger. Great job, Colleen!
LINE- The Markham brothers, Callum and Tristan, couldn't be more different! Callum is an extremely successful lawyer and Tristan has made a name for himself onstage. Lydia, a famous writer, is out on a first date with Tristan and they run into Callum. It's immediately obvious that the brothers have a horrible relationship with one another and Lydia is strangely drawn to Callum. At the center of the story is Callum's attempt to turn the old and shabby King James opera house into a Premier Broadway Theater called The Cordoza. Tristan is constantly strutting around on and off the stage, waiting for adulation and knowing that he's the best actor around! Lydia needs to choose between the brothers and her choice is made easy by the chemistry that ignites between them when Callum is near. There's trouble for them, however, due to the fact that they are holding back their emotions and afraid to trust. I felt the emotional struggle and the joy of falling in love throughout the book. As always, a Colleen Charles book leaves me smiling and so impressed with how she drew the entire story to its end. The Epilogue is one of the best ever!
Sinker - Sinker is one of Colleen Charles' wittiest sports romance books! I love how she involves both a star pitcher and an up and coming female journalist in one of the most tightly told stories. The plot never weakens and it keeps you wondering just how everything is going to be resolved. Brett is the all-star cocky pitcher who has been sparring with Brenna over the "hateful" articles she has written about him. He's not sure why she has such a vendetta against him. Brenna has heard all the gossip and negative information about his cockiness and how he thinks he is all it. Whether intentional or not, Brett throws his famous sinker ball in her direction and, wouldn't you know, it hits her in the head causing almost total amnesia. Brenna remembers nothing about their animosity and both she and Brett start a relationship of sorts. Once Brenna's memory starts to come back, she is furious because she's certain that she's been played. I think Colleen Charles writes with such background knowledge and ability to allow the reader to step right into the development of the plot. I have loved each of her books and that's saying a lot! Enjoy!
