If you're in the market for scissors/shears and do a lot of arts & crafts, or just a lot of cutting of heavier-duty materials these are probably for you.
For cutting things that might damage the blade, these might be a wiser choice than using the fine Heritage line, but I've found that I tend to use the 10" Heritage Tailor Shears for everything.
Again: these are excellent, and all their marketing is pretty much on target. But if you are going to be cutting really stiff, thick materials, you will have to work pretty hard in these. They're far better than cheap scissors, though.
[EDIT] March 2015 — I've now been using the Heritage Tailor Shears AND the Amplify Mixed Media Shears for over 8 months, sometimes reaching for one and sometimes the other. I've learned that the Amplify Mixed Media Shears really DO what they claim to do — that is, hold tightly together through thick and cumbersome media. These scissors are not to be taken lightly. They're extremely good scissors, and if you tend to cut on lots of cardboard and other thick stuff, these may well be the best choice out there. I still love both models, but I'm learning when to use which model, and this one is the pair of choice for heavy stuff.
All in all, an innovative product that does work as advertised.
