This set arrived securely packed and earlier than expected! I rarely sew, but I bought this set for a window treatment I'm planning to make. I had never used a cutting mat, quilting ruler, or rotary cutter. So far, I have only made a few test cuts. The items were easy and intuitive to use even though I chose a silky fabric for the test cuts that might not be the easiest on which to achieve a clean cut. The cuts were clean. I'm very pleased with my purchase and would recommend these items to others.

I have only used this for a few sewing projects but you can clearly see where I had to follow pattern curves and those cut marks in the mat don’t go away. I expect that a person that does a lot of projects would probably have to replace it after 12 projects if they are cutting out a lot of patterns. I would be cautious using mine for delicate fabrics now that I have those edges that they could catch on. I also learned (the hard way) that these mats do NOT handle heat well. High heat will warp the mat. The rotary tool is great and I typically find it easier to use than fabric scissors in most cases when cutting out patterns.

Although I’ve been sewing for 42 of my 46 years, I’ve only recently begun to make quilts. Knowing the importance of precision, I was terrified to cut the pieces! I saw this set and bought it, and I highly encourage you to do the same!
The board is big but surprisingly solid, the cutting guide ruler is ideal for the board and the rotary blade tool is the best I’ve ever used. It comes with a handy little safety switch but unlike the rotary blade tools I’ve bought, you don’t have to hold the inner handle or apply any grip to expose the blade. Just a little click and the safety flips back into the handle; easily done with a thumb.
The board and guide ruler are covered in measurements for inches and 30, 45 and 90 degree angles. Centimetres are marked out in little dots. Both sides of the board are marked and have awesome little squares marked out in 6 different sizes to check your quilting blocks, from 4 to 12 inches.
The board is self healing and I tend to be heavy handed but there’s not a mark on it.
I’m very happy with this purchase!

This rotary cutting set is pretty good for the price. The fact that it's dual sided and self-repairing makes this an expensive BUT long-lasting purchase. It works great for cutting fabric, and I use it for that specific reason, however, I also use the mat just to protect the top of my desk or counters when I'm using my X-acto knife for arts and crafts with my kids. I'm not the greatest at cutting ANYTHING with scissors. Everything always ends up all crooked and looks like it was cut by a 2 years old. This has been a life saver. Look MA ! I can cut straight now ! Great purchase. Would recommend.

Excellent, excellent value for the price.

I tested the rotary cutter on a bedsheet folded over a number of times, and it cut through 16 layers in a single pass - I was pleasantly (and very) surprised. The healing mat held up excellently, no visible cut lines so far, and the material feels extremely sturdy. I don’t think it would be easy for the mat to buckle/bend (though I will continue to store it flat, just in case).

The ruler does its job and is nothing special, I don’t agree with the criticism about it not being precise. The design is such that thin blacklines are hugged by a white border; for precise measurement, just look at the black lines.

La qualité du plastique des règles est exeptionnelle.
Le tapis et le cutter rotatifs sont parfaits!

Contre :

1) Les règles sont beaucoup trop glissantes. J'ai dû acheter des "non slip adhesive glass rings" car je ratais beaucoup de coupes.
2) C'est vraiment très difficile à lire, le contour blanc autour des marquages ne sert à rien, les lignes noires étant très visibles même sur des tissus noirs avec un bon éclairage. Tout ce blanc cache beaucoup, vient "encombrer", ,surcharger et rend la lecture confuse. Difficile de faire des coupes précises.

Je recommanderais plutôt les règles de la marque Olfa, elles ont un dessous givrés (anti-dérapant) et les marquages sont beaucoup plus sobres.

I've never had/used a rotary cutter and I've been sewing since I was 10!! I'm not sure how I managed for 59 years without one. The cutting board is amazing and the see thru ruler is great although a little linger than I needed. I'm literally "on a roll" not making masks in multiples! I feel like thus has been a life changer and the price was definitely much more attractive than at a sewing Center!!
