First of all, I want to correct the product description for this set of pens. There are indeed 48 pens, but they are not evenly split up into 4 groups of 12. The actual breakdown is as follows:
12 glitter
9 metallic
9 bright/neon
9 pastel/milky
6 swirl/multi-colored milky
3 black

I believe they are all pretty standard sized 1.0mm ball points, which all but the most eagle-eyed of us will NOT be able to tell apart from the .7-.8mm most other gel pens are. All of them write smoothly with minimal skipping and dragging, save for the pastel and swirl types. I have a long history with gel pens - suffice it to say I've been a fan since middle school, when Pentel Milkies were all the rage, and were unfortunately no stranger to skipping and dragging even then, and now I'm in college - and it comes as no surprise that the much maligned pastel or milky ink is still a source of frustration. If I had to assign a letter grade for consistency of ink flow, it would be thus:
glitter - A+
metallic - A+
bright - A
pastel - C
swirl - C
black - A

Additionally, the 6 color combos of the swirled pens are:
Pink Cap - blue/purple/pink
*Orange Cap - blue/purple/orange
*Yellow Cap - yellow/green/orange
Green Cap - yellow/green/blue
*Blue Cap - yellow/pink/blue
Purple Cap - purple/green/blue

The asterisk denotes those pens where the color change is immediately evident. The others may have multiple inks in the barrels, but the colors seem to blend into one disappointingly lackluster hue. (i.e.

Ordered Sunday night and got them Tue morning, with Free Super Saver Shipping..

About the product:
- Metallic set - my fave of all. Very smooth to write and doesn't skip, works on either white and black paper.
- Glitter set gives 3D effect, not as smooth as Metallic set but i like that it doesn't skip either.
- Swirl set - watery, skips a lot but they look very colorful in white paper and i love those that changes color while you write..
- Neon - watery, skips a lot and I was disappointed with white, it was really bad. I was even excited about it because I use white a lot, so I'm going to stick with Uniball for this.

Overall, I would recommend this product. You can't beat the price. You get a lot for your money and quality is good. I added pictures so check them out..

Great variety of colors. Some of the pens are more stubborn than others. I had the most difficulty with the pastels and neons, they tend to stop putting out ink like there are bubbles in the ink. This can get frustrating, but the ink quality is good. The metallic pens work the best, putting out lots of ink compared to the rest. All the colors are very pretty and vibrant. Comes with your regular run-of-the-mill black, blue, green, and red too.
I've had these for a little over a month now and I really like them. I've used the crap out of them already. I would definitely purchase this product again. It's a great value for the amount of pens you get. The Gelly Roll pens are $1-$2 PER PEN!

I was pleasantly surprised by these pens. I bought them to use for coloring intricate coloring books and they've been perfect for the smaller details. I have not had any problem with ink flow or pens not working. I plan to order this set again when my current set runs out.
The included image was colored only with pens from this set.

I purchased this product after closely examining all the scrapbook pens Amazon had to offer. I was a little wary because of the 1.0mm point size as I tend to like narrower points for scrapbooking. However, these pens do work very well for scrapbooking. The ink is very smooth and does not skip while writing, and the color assortment cannot be beat. The one thing to be aware of is that these pens do require a little drying time before they are smear proof; before they are completely dry on the paper, they will smear and care must be taken with the project. Overall, I think these pens are a great value for the price and have met my scrapbooking needs just as well as pricey pens from a specialty store.

I bought these pens because I like gel pens and glitter pens and I though "what the hell, I'll get 48". I intend to probably use these for snail mail and sketches.

So what I consider when buying anything with a lot of colors is, Are all of the colors the same? I was pretty surprised to find that there was a good variety of colors, and there was really no color repeating (albeit black).
I also really enjoy writing with these. However, I do notice that some lines are thicker and some are more sharp depending on the pen. The neon set seems to consistently produce sharper lines.

I think if you want 48 gel pens, these are really a good deal. They are well made and write nice. A few stuck a bit but after I got it running, it wrote well.

Explaining the photos:
First pic is just all the pens and the packaging. Second is the white neon pen. Third is all of the pens ink. Fourth is an example of the glitter (it's a bit subtle but you can see it in the light). Fifth is displaying the metal. Most of the colored aren't quite as metallic as the silver and gold, but realistically, purple isn't metallic. Sixth is all of the black pens. The swirl set doesn't have black. The sixth is the darkest greens in each set. Trying to show color variation.
