They are titanium scissors coated in a black color [see photos]. The blades are small so you can carefully cut out tiny details in your crafts. They are not heavy duty scissors meant to cut thick materials so don't test the limitations of this. They are for delicate cutting of light materials.
If you want matching regular scissors that look like this, get the Fiskars 8-inch Titanium Softgrip Scissors. Recommended.
The scissor blades come in a cool black color. It is non-stick so if you were to cut anything with glue, it will be less likely to stick. The titanium blades are strong and can cut through pretty much your normal, everyday items: thick paper, plastic bags, rope, light cardboard. The handle is made for right-handed people in a nice matching gray color. The handle is also rubberized on the inside to help with grip.
I've owned these for years and rarely resharpen them (which I recommend the Fiskars Desktop Scissors Sharpener. They have been very reliable and helpful throughout the years.
These are so good, I suggested them at work and now a lot of (lucky) people have a pair of these on their desks. Recommended.
It wasn't an urgent need but eventually I was ordering an item that qualified for free next day shipping but by itself didn't reach the minimum dollar amount, I had to add another qualifying item. Dug around a bit and found these. But once arrived, they pretty much just sat in their particular location (except for a couple of times when the wife grabbed them and didn't return them; c'mon, really?!?).
With the holiday season now past us I finally had the chance to put some fair use on them. And they're just okay. They cut, they're fairly comfortable for ambidextrous use, but the performance wasn't anything special over any other pair of regular scissors I've used before. Didn't notice any benefit from the "non-stick titanium" coating. Would I buy them again? I don't have anything against them but I'd probably shop around some more for something a little more impressive.
I also trim my toenails and fingernails with them, so as a minimalist, it's nice to own one less thing.
I've had them over a year, and used them pretty heavily on sewing projects where I make my own gear. They can slice through reasonably thick material, and the tightening screw hasn't loosened much at all. The tips are slightly blunt, so it won't stab holes in my pack, but they are fine enough for detail work.
I was hoping they woukd work, but this has turned into a bust. I will continue to look for a better pair...
