When my sister gave me these snippers, my first reaction was that they were too lightweight to be useful. Was I wrong! I grow a lot of roses, and this tool has become invaluable for deadheading. It's also great for cutting daffodils, tulips and narcissus for floral arrangements. It's light enough for me to carry whenever I walk around the garden. Don't be tempted to cut any woody stems; it's strictly designed for deadheading and pliable green stems.

This is the 2nd pair I've owned and these little snips last. The first pair lasted 5 years and are still in use. They're used daily at the garden center where I work and are the favorite tool of all my co-workers. The snips are durable enough to trim everything from bedding plants to hanging baskets to shrubs (butterfly bushes) yet light and responsive enough to be easily handled by those of us with joint problems. The Fiskars small size makes it easy to trim out even the most densely overgrown plants and make deadheading Petunias a breeze. I've tried other snips by various manufacturers and none have worked as well as these. The others have been too bulky, too heavy, too large for delicate trims and/or too tight in the hinge to be used comfortably. Over all the Fiskars Micro-snips are the perfect tool to clean up both houseplants and garden beds.

I love my micro tip, and I use it every day for deadheading and cutting flowers. I used to deadhead my flowers with my fingers, and get green stuff under my fingernails (ugh!). I was right when I thought this would fill a void in my garden tool collection. The tip is very sharp, and it is very comfortable. It has an easy to use lock, which is handy to have around children.

I'm a landscaper, so I use these snips for deadheading fussy annuals like violas and petunias.

But I used to work at a Humboldt County, CA nursery, and, um... I was probably the only person ever to buy a pair of these for legal purposes! Seriously, this is the gold standard for pot-growers who need to do trimming. What kind of trimming? Durn if I know, but I've seen them at yard sales coated with the sticky sap, and the local growers used to buy stacks of these nippers with their smelly cash, so...

If you need it for either purpose, then these are the best. I've tried other brands and didn't like them as well. Keep in mind this is for cutting thin, tiny deadheads. It's not a pruning shear, it's for very detailed deadheading or nipping of very small stems.

If you're doing a lot of delicate pruning like this, I'd also recommend picking up some of those thin Atlas Nitrile Touch gloves. Best gloves for tactile sensation while doing fine work.

These micro-snips are amazing for trimming my indoor oregano garden. The tips have 2 additional angle grinds too them, for greater precision, like for cutting fan leaves from in-between the flowers. The spring will take your hands a little bit to get used too, as the spring feels a little stiff at first, it's for the best and you will get used to it. I would recommend sliding your thumb up so it points parallel with the blade.

There are, in my opinion, no better small flower pruners for the price. I would pick up multiple pairs for when others help you trim your oregano garden. I've trimmed a pound of oregano in just over 6 hours with these.

I ONLY USED Fiskar soft touch trimmers, pruners, loppers etc because IMHO they HAD made the best. Most recently I had to replace two pairs of the Soft Touch Pruning Scissors that are approx 8+ years old and had ben sharpened professionally a few times over the years and were my favorite pair, so much so that over the next year or two of buying my first 2 I then purchased 12 more pairs for other gardeners in my family and for some friends. When I received the 2 new pairs I bought I was in shock, right away you can just feel how cheap they feel in comparison to the original model. The old model was made in the USA and Ill assume the new version is not since the imprint "Made in the USA" is no longer on the package/scissor blade. After the 2 full day of use the spring popped on the one pair and the same day while using the 2nd pair the plastic slide which locks the blades popped off as well!! I went back online and purchased Hydrofarms equivilant to Fiskars, not only are they a cheaper price, they came with a free belt holder to hold the scissors while you are in the garden.

I was disappointed with this item. I purchased these snippers because in the picture one can clearly see that there are raised bumbs or dimples on the handle grip. I thought what a nice upgrade from the many pairs I already have. Upon receiving my package earlier this week, I opened up the box to find that these are JUST like the many pairs of fiskars I already have. The handle grip is smooth without textured raised bumps. Disappointed it wasn't pictured correctly.
