If you want to enjoy a decent stew at the right consistency and within a reasonable amount of time, you need a pressure cooker. It saves time, energy, and vitamins in a big way, and the food comes out right every time. The only downside is that you have one more thing to clean.
I suppose you do not have to dish out premium buck for German manufacturing, and there are plenty of dirt cheap Chinese ones available. I like this one because it is small and therefore gets to the pressure faster and maintains it at a lower stove setting. For me, a stew that without this cooker would take 2hrs on setting 4 now takes 30 minutes on setting 2 and the meat is falling apart after that. You can also use less than half of the broth. What is not to like?
Cleaning in the dishwasher requires brief disassembly. Other reviewers complained that the cooker can leak, which just indicates that they were making something that foams (notably, rice). For such foodstuffs you must not load the cooker above the 1/3 line, that solves this issue.
