I bought this looking for something that would hold my mustache out of my mouth and nose all day. It does this well for maybe 5 hours. It doesn't hold up to the movement of my lips and often will require reapplication in the middle of the day. This is not the downfall of the product. It's possibly the best I have tried and smells great. I would recommend just know that it's not an all day hold.
Lighter hold than Clubman stache wax, but without looking like you put white tooth paste in your stache, also it's not sticky like Clubman. Feels like what you'd expect from a beard balm on steroids, but not much more than that. It's decent, but it smells like eucalyptus and pine tar. I think I'll try the Bay Rum next time. update 11/07/17: it sucks, good hold for about 5 minutes, and then turns to grease, with no hold what so ever. disappointed.
No clue how this ever got s 4 Star rating. I guess if you want a mustache with no style and now looks dirty because this crap is in it.. It has absolutely no hold and smells rotten. My husband is very picky on what he uses and has been doing it for some time now, so he knows what he’s doing. Waste of money and straight to the trash can... WASTE!!!!
This was my first mustache wax I ever tried. I didn't have a reference point for the beginning but it was a great wax for me. Not too thick that it pulled my mustache but it helt it in place good. The size of the tin is comfortable in my pocket. now that I have a full-grown handlebar mustache I still carry this and use it on occasion. I have switched over to primary and secondary he can you handle bar it brand for a stronger longer hold. this stuff smells great/natural
This wax is reasonably pliable with a nice, yellow color that applies clear, and I love the citrus smell. Now, I was lead to believe this wax maintained a decent hold on the stache, but I found the hold to be medium at best. The wax does not hold in the center at all, and after a couple hours, my curls start to droop (and that's on a good day). I've read reviews that suggest this wax is great for those who are looking for a medium hold and those who only want to shape the stache, and I will agree to that. Once I notice my curls are drooping, I can't keep my hands out of my face. I shape and pull and twist for the remainder of the day, and while I can't say it maintains the hold I'm looking for, it does keep hair out of my mouth. I give it a 3 stars for presentation, color, smell, and cool factor (one of the coolest wax brands/logos I've seen). But I dock it 2 points for lack of hold for the length I have. I know reapplying is recommended, but it is not ideal for me. I work throughout the day and would likely be shown the door if I spent time reapplying wax in a pocket mirror. I recommend Wacky Tacky for an all-day hold with any style (curled handlebar or a pulled-natural look). I only have a 3 month old stache though, so I'll return in about 6 months to a year to review again and I'll determine how much better or worse this wax behaves with longer whiskers
This is the best mustache wax if your a guy who means business. If you're sporting the handlebar like me, then you know how tiresome it can be to have to re-wax your stache as it gets droopy throughout the day. With Fisticuffs, that's not an issue. It's a bit on the stiffer side of waxes, so it really does a superior job keeping your mustache in place. The tin is a fantastically portable size, and at nine bucks, you probably can't afford not to get it. My last wax was from the Art of Shaving store, was an inferior product to Fisticuffs, and it set me back almost $30. Also, this wax has a great, but not overpowering, ginger scent that I, and more importantly my wife, find to be quite pleasant.
I'm not sure if it's my mustache or my handlebar makin' skills, but I'm not having any luck getting this product to work on my facial hair. I don't have any prior experience with other mustache waxes, so I'm not sure how it compares. It just made my mustache feel sort of dirty and gluey without shaping it into anything cool. My facial hair is not very long; tow or three months of growth approx. I liked the smell of it. I sort of expected an experience more like my hair on my head has with a matte separation wax. I'll edit this if I try any others or if my success changes with this one.
One of my favorite purchases of all time. If you want just a little help, or if you really want to sculpt and style your stache, this stuff is the best I've used. I've use a number of different kinds and none of them have the hold and moldability as Fisticuffs.
I did a lot of research before finding this wax. I wanted something that was kind of soft, but could sculpt on days I wanted a really tight curl. This does it all. It's worth every single dime, and I'm ordering it again as I type.
