I first ran into this cd at a used music store, that will remain nameless so as to avoid lawsuits and such, while i was browsing the heavy metal section. I was looking for anything that could catch my all-seeing eye. The eye caught a glimpse of the name of this band 'Aversion,' which of course means "a strong feeling of dislike, opposition, repugnance, or antipathy." I thought that this seemed like quite a nice name for a band of the heavy metal variety, and proceeded to buy the cd, entitled 'fit to be tied.' The cover featured a few people hanging from nooses, which may very well be horribly misspelled, although the spelling is not of my concern at this time. I purchased the cd for 8.99 which, after taxes, comes to a grand total of about 9.63. Good price i suppose. I plug the disc into my car sterio and am blown away by the album's suprisingly fantastic opener 'Hung.' The album definately contains an older Metallica feel, in the sense that the singer almost sounds identical to what James Hetfield used to sound like. All of the songs are played somewhere between the speed range of moderate fast to blisteringly fast, and are all equally catchy and mosh-worthy. I am ashamed for not coming across this band earlier, seeing as how they are so awesome and all. My only complaint is a slight lack of solos. There are a few guitar solos, and they display some excellent fingerwork, but the problem is that there are only a few guitar solos. However, this band is excellent, this cd is excellent, low carb french toast is excellent. Whatever's clever. I hope anyone who reads this may decide to buy it. Better yourself, everyone you love, everyone around you, and everyone you've ever accidentally run into in a non-intentional way. Aversion is yumms.

Okay, I'm not sure there's such a genre as "indie speed metal," but if there is such a genre, Aversion fits into it perfectly. This album carries a lot of nostalgia for me, as it reminds me of my freshman year of college (1993-94). If I remember correctly, "Fit to Be Tied" had been released not too long before. A friend of mine had this album on tape (yes, tape), and I borrowed it many, many times. Only a couple of years ago, I managed to find the album on CD.

Each of the songs is memorable and catchy...something that's very uncommon for speed/thrash metal. I agree with Chris Jackson's comment that it sounds somewhat like early Metallica, before Hetfield's voice became generic-sounding. Go get yourself some Aversion!

A highly overlooked crossover thrash band! Speed is the name of the game with these guys. This album has some great riffs while still maintaining a somewhat punk vibe. Anyone into crossover or thrash should check this album out. I remember in my youth surfers and skaters would eat this kind of stuff up. Wish more people knew about these guys. Highly recommended! NOT FOR POSERS!!!

Returning CD due to sticker affixed to info booklet. Please return and send one that doesn't have stickers affixed to info booklet. I am a collector and it ruins the value
