A little shallow on the bottom

I really like this box and I use it everyday. However I find it a tight squeeze if I want a salad on the bottom or a small sandwich or a pita. It's great, but I don't think you would often bring anything more than an a little less than inch thick with this little number.

We've been using this item for my 5 year old's lunch since the beginning of the school year. He uses it every day and we wash it every day. It has not warped at all. (We do not put it in the dishwasher though.) It's lightweight, works well and has ample room for his entire lunch. The lids are secure, but not impossible to remove. I rate this an A.

Poor customer service

My container arrived with not one, but BOTH, of the tabs on the top lid broken off (and therefore almost impossible to open). Considering that it would be almost as much $$ to ship it back to amazon as the product cost, I instead tried to contact the company to request a new lid. They said that they'd send me one, but instead sent me a new freezer thing. When I tried to contact them about their error, they never responded. By the time I was done waiting for them, it was too late to return to amazon.

Best container for salads

I love these containers! I bring a salad to work nearly every day and these containers are simply the best there is. The main container is large enough to fit a complete salad and two of the smaller containers (I don't use the ice pack because there is a fridge at my work). I use the smaller containers for protein and cucumbers/tomatoes. Lettuce, olives, etc. go in the larger container. When I combine all the ingredients and take out the smaller containers there is plenty of room to shake the salad with the dressing. The whole system is the perfect size.
The only negative is that the smaller containers warp slightly and the lids are a little difficult to get on, but it is not too bad.

Don't waste your money

The sandwich containers are impossible to close. They appear to be a square but actually have different shaped sides so the lid only fits on one way, which is nearly impossible to determine by sight. It takes several minutes of effort to figure it out and even then they don't snap on tightly. I would NEVER buy these again and do not recommend them to anyone!

Awesome bento box just the right size for everything. I was upset that I could get the same thing for the same price at Bed, Bath & Beyond though. A must get this box if you like leftovers. bottom is perfect size for a sandwich. I suggest getting some one once containers for condiments.

I pack lunch, this looked like a good idea but from the beginning I had problems with the lids. They do warp very easily and right after purchase rendering them useless.

Best $10 I've Spent in a Long Time

Well, $20 actually, as I bought 2 of the "bento box" kits at a local Target.

I'll admit they were an impulse item. But I'd been looking for something smaller and more compact to bring my lunch and afternoon snack to work, and the "Lunch on the Go" kit has been working great for me.

My office doesn't provide refrigerators for employee use (I suspect due to their contract with Sodexho, that runs the cafeteria). I usually bring a salad, leftovers from dinner and some yogurt and fruit for an afternoon snack. The ice pack keeps the salad cool and crisp, and the other items cold enough for my liking. Two tips:

1. Make sure that the ice pack lies flat in your freezer. If you freeze it standing on an edge, it will "bulge" slightly, and may make it difficult to close the lid properly.

2. To make salad, I put some dressing on the bottom of the large container, then put the lettuce, greens, etc., on top of the dressing. The ice pack goes next, followed by the two small containers. Assembled this way, the salad greens keep the dressing from leaking onto the other containers.

I routinely wash my Lunch on the Go in the top rack of our dishwasher, except for the ice pack, which is hand washed. No warping or cracking 7 weeks in.

Some other reviewers have commented that the bottom area of the container might not be large enough to hold a sandwich. A "tall" sandwich on large bread would probably present a problem, as the one time I used it to carry a sandwich on standard loaf bread, I had to cut the sandwich into quarters and stack them so they would fit. It was only PB&J, so it worked, but this might be a concern if you like lots of fillings on your sandwich.

Now, if they'd only make a "hot pack," I'd be set for the winter!
