18" Wide Angle; Clip-On. 17 3/4" viewing area. Wide angle rearview mirror provides a wider field of view reducing blind spots. Easy installation; no tools required simply clip on to existing rearview mirror. Chrome plated glass is shatter proof and reduces glare. The reflective chrome layer is plated on the front of the glass resulting in less distortion. Does not have the day/night switch. Objects in mirror are closer than they appear to be. Marked for off-road use only. Fits most standard rearview mirrors, recommended for use in mid-size and larger vehicles. May reduce access to mirror accessories such as map lights, compasses, OnStar controls, etc.

It's does a good job at viewing my blind spot on the right side.
it's bigger than the walmart add-on i had previously, everything in its reflection, day or night, is visible ( i bought my truck with slightly tinted windows, so how much more so would it be through clear windows )...believe it or not, i would love an even longer & taller version :-P
i've been having the worst luck remounting the stock mirror ( apparently the previous owner did too, as it was not on the windshield when i bought the truck ), so i've ordered one of those ram mounts, & i'm going to bypass having to clip the fit onto the stock mirror by making ( another, because i had a version of it with my previous wide mirror ) a custom ram/fit system wide suction cup mirror monstrosity thing.
drawbacks of the fit: there is a warping effect around the edges of the mirror, but that can be eventually overlooked if one is not obsessive compulsive and easily distracted. yes, everything is smaller in the mirror, but hasn't that been the case since the invention of the automobile mirror? "objects in mirror are closer than they appear"? no big deal. cars are still visible. and the sun visor clearance is a small issue, but mostly on the passenger side, but with my suction cup mounted mirror monstrosity, i can mount the mirror in a position that it won't make contact with the passenger visor.
all in all, an automotive asset.
I was using mostly the sideview half-globe mirrors which helped a bit, however, not even close to the helpfulness of the extended convex rearview mirror. I have been utilizing this and the sideview globes for years now, ultimately both work best in unison. Although, a lot of the time I can fully see all of my blindspots just using this rearview without any issues, as well as plenty more that can be visualized in the extended field of vision.
I ordered this one for my mother to use since she can sometimes get a bit flustered trying to change lanes in heavy traffic. Some other reviewers have mentioned difficulty getting used to the image with the convex curve, try to practice while sitting at traffic lights. Identify a vehicle in the mirror, turn to look directly then back and forth a few times, after that move onto another vehicle. This will help to get used to the distances/depth of view more easily. My mom was having a bit of trouble with the mirror at first but after I recommended practicing like that it helped her to better understand what she was seeing and where it actually was.
With this rear view mirror there are no blind spots so switching between lanes is a lot easier and definitely more efficient when having to maneuver through traffic. It takes a bit to get use to, I would say use it as soon as you get it and take it around the block to see how you like it.
Disclaimer: Because this mirror is intended to give you a wider view the objects in the mirror seem further away. I actually prefer this, but its good to know for those who would not like it.
