The directions we simple but I made it harder than I need to. Says to open the fitbit app to 'today' get on the scales, click save. Yeah, that wasn't working. For some reason I thought the device need to be bluetoothed to my phone. It does not. Then I thought I needed to have a second app just for the scale. I did not. The app I downloaded was just a firm update. So here's all I had to do. Open the fitbit app. Scroll down to the 'weight' area. Click on that. Click on the plus sign to add new weight. Stand on the scale. Your new weight is automatically inputted in the weight area. Click save.

I really don't know why I waited this long before buying this scale?! Have been using it for about a month or so and really love my purchase.

I mean , setup is ridiculously easy , fast. and accurate . I weigh myself everyday and because it automatically syncs with my Fitbit Sense , I feel it keep me honest about my actual weight.

My husband doesn't have a Fitbit , but he uses the scale too and it have been accurate for him too.

I bought this scale to sync my weight to the Fitbit app that I use with my Sense 2. It worked the first time I paired it with my phone, but the second time I went to use it, it would not connect to the Bluetooth. I restarted my phone, repaired the scale, and again it worked. And then the next time I went to weigh, it would not connect again. I did some web searches on this issue and found that it's a known issue. The proposed solution is to force-quit the app before weighing in. That isn't an acceptable solution for me and being that the issue has been reported for over a year and Fitbit didn't fix it, I returned the scale.

Fitbit Aria Air Smart Scale

This is quite a bit larger than our existing scale, this scale measure 30 x 30 cm. To be honest, up to now I've not had a lot of luck with glass topped electronic scales. Previous electronic scales that I've had have been quite inconsistent with the displayed weight, step on and they give a weight, step off and back on again and they gave a different weight. I'm pleased to say that this Fitbit smart scale seems to give a reasonably consistent weight measurement each time I step on, off, and back on again.

Powered by 3 AAA batteries, which are a refreshing change from the normal circular CR032 batteries. There are 3 high quality AAA batteries included, these are already installed and ready to go, just pull the plastic protective strip out to power up.

As this is a fitbit product it will communicate with the fitbit app. I can track my weight related progress much the same as the app will communicate with the fitbit wrist device. The app was easy to install. Once installed I had to register an account which asked for a few personal details, which are: Name, date of birth, weight, height etc. Once I had registered an account I searched for the name 'Aria Air' from the device list, this then paired both devices via blue-tooth. The pairing was carried out quickly and without issue, in no time at all I was ready to go.

I don't own any other fitbit device so this was my first experience of one of their products. I do like the idea that I can keep a daily record of my weight through the fitbit app. The scales on their own work well, I have compared them to a known accurate scale and these gave the same weight so they do seem accurate. I don't weigh myself every day so I haven't fully tested the app out, but so far it seems to be reliable and keeping track of my information.

I do like this, it is well made and accurate, which is all that I need from a bathroom scale. The fact that this will communicate with the fitbit app and track my progress is a bonus.

There's a certain irony in being bothered enough about your weight to buy expensive scales, but also lazy enough that you want them to automatically record it for you :) That aside, usage is super simple. Open the Fitbit app on your phone, stand on the scales and wait. I've been using them for 2-3 weeks and had zero issues, with the weight syncing to the app in a few seconds each time. I find this especially useful as I get up in the morning without my glasses on, so being able to stand on the scales and have it record the weight without me having to actually SEE the scales is very handy.

The scales register and display your weight *very* quickly and output it onto a nice bright white display. You don't need to kick or press on the scales to turn them on, just step on them and they come alive. Nice.

£50 seems a fair price. They have a good finish to them and look smart and work great. I can't comment hugely on accuracy because I don't have a medically calibrated set of scales here, but obviously if you are tracking weight for weight loss, any slight inaccuracy isn't that important, it's the *change* and whether it's going up or down that matters. Leave the scales in the same place, use only these to track your weight and don't touch them and they should maintain the same level of accuracy/inaccuracy.

Absolute waste of money! Set took ages, trying to get it to connect was a nightmare. Finally got it working and then on day 2 it simply would not sync. Tried the help pages but it seems to be a known issue that Fitbit simply cannot be bothered to fix!
Instead they would rather you buy their newer scales at an extra £70 !!
I don't think so! On their way back for a refund.

Don't get me wrong, I love Fitbit trackers and smart watches and have owned several over the years, culminating in their flagship Fitbit Sense which I absolutely adore. I was so into Fitbit that I threw away a perfectly good pair of bathroom scales in October 2020 to replace them with the Fitbit Aria Air and have regretted it ever since!
Firstly disappointment, it doesn't even measure body fat! A £50 connected bathroom scale that doesn't even measure body fat! Seriously Fitbit?!! To be honest though, even if it did, I'm not sure the app would be able to use the data constructively. Yes the app is generally brilliant and can do some amazing things with the data it imports from its trackers and smart watches, but when giving you smart scales related data it is extremely lacking and basic.
Next huge disappointment was the reliability of its Bluetooth connection. On average it would download the weight reading to the app about one time in five! I downloaded a software patch, and reinstalled it on the app twice, but it never improved. On the odd occasion that it did download, it was so slow that I had usually manually typed my weight into the app by that stage!
I've heard reports doubting the accuracy of this scale. I don't know how true they are as I didn't have another scale to compare it with, so who knows. Simply hearing these doubts was concerning though, considering this is priced as a premium product.
Final straw was when it started to give me spurious readings last week. Changed the batteries, but it didn't solve the problem and it started weighing 20lbs light! At that point I gave up and binned it. Have just spent £15 on a scale which connects to its app 100% reliably, giving me a plethora of data which the app graphs beautifully for me. It even looks better than the Fitbit and all for less than a third of the price!
Here lies the problem - You are simply paying an inflated price for the Fitbit name and getting a very mediocre product in return. Come on Fitbit, you can do much better than this!
