For the Part 1 alone, I appreciate this book. There are so many Fitbit models out now that it is overwhelming. Plus the cost is a lot different from when the Flex came out. So Part 1 does a good job of explaining the different models and helping the reader consider which model would be the best fit.
The Getting Started section is also great. I'd probably go with the Flex2 model but it is nice to see how the other models work as well. I like that the book expands from the hardware features to the community as well as the software features with the app to help one get healthier.
It is written for the average person to read so I like that the author assumes a level of understanding even as the author expands the information into areas that may not be as familiar. That balance makes for a good read.
In addition to setting up and maintaining your devices (and the book covers various models) the Dummies volume also gives you advice on using the Fitbit to best advantage to getting to your health goals (fitness, weightloss.)
There is also a chapter on data security and another chapter on connectivity to other devices and services. For example, my Fitbit uploads to our company health coach system so I can log in my exercise. I get discounts for keeping up, " cash" I can spend on some health items.
If you are enjoying using your Fitbit, this book helps you get more out of the device.

The 'for Dummies' series is GREAT. They cover every aspect of their subject and, when you wish to refer back, the index leads you to the very paragraph that covers the topic. One doesn't need to read from page 1 to page 322; simply select the area of doubt and, I will guarantee that the problem will be solved in seconds.
Since receiving this book, I have found ways of using the Fitbit of which I had not previously even been aware that such things were possible.
If you have, or are seriously contemplating the acquisition of a Fitbit, this book is a necessity.
In order to cover this topic, the book is broken down into four mains parts:
1. Introducing Fitbit – 4 Chapters
2. Tracking Your Health & Fitness – 4 Chapters
3. Using Fitbit to Meet Your Goals – 3 Chapters
4. The Part of Tens – 3 Chapters
There’s an Introduction at the beginning and Glossary & Index at the back.
The book is well written and relatively easy to follow, with diagrams and pictures to help support the text. It is also comprehensive in its coverage of Fitbits in their many guises. The book can be read through or used a reference/look-up on specific things. There are also various health tips along the way. Not only do you get the book, but there’s also a lot of free support and tips online as well.
At its current price of £11.62, you get a very useful book and reference tool.
The book is more suited to people who want to utilise the more extensive features the Fitbit and its App offer e.g. Food Tracking. If you’re just looking to use the basic functionality, then this book may not be needed.
I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative and useful.

Fitbits come with a manual, but that really only covers basics. This book is some 300pp which explain in detail how to ensure that the user sets up and then achieves their personal fitness and health goals. Chapters include Understanding Health and Fitness Tracking, Choosing a Fitbit (clip on, wristband or watch) and reviews of some devices, Getting Started, Getting Social, Tracking Your Daily Levels, Tracking Sleep Patterns, watching Your Heart Rate, Keeping an eye on Body Composition, Getting Fit, Losing Weight, Developing Healthier Habits and more.
I’m finding it an invaluable resource to both learn more about fitness generally and ways to keep focussed and motivated. Everything you need is packed into one handy volume and it really takes the user to a different level of understanding how to fully use a Fitbit. Highly recommended.
