I am 58.5 yrs. old. I am going back to exercise following an SI injury. I also have very bad shoulders, tight and painful. This is a great way to start exercises again. I am doing things here that I couldn't do before because of the careful stretching and use of the muscles. I am a RN and even have been to PT. This is far more effective for me. My back is doing much better and my shoulders are starting to loosen up. I can't address whether this is equivalent to a true weight lifting program, but for core exercises it is wonderful. I used to do Yoga and Pilates before my injury and just could not find anything that worked me they way those did, but just couldn't tolerate the extremes after my injury. Yes, she's cute and she's sexy, but for me, she is helping me slowly and carefully build back much farther with my core, shoulders and low back than anything else I could find. I've got a library of exercise tapes and this has been extremely beneficial.

ABX was created for both men and women at any fitness level. The program focus on core strengthening, a healthy postural alignment, muscular endurance, flexibility and cardiovascular training. The DVD runs for about 60 minutes, but you can get a great workout by doing only 30 minutes. The creator Erin Buchanan challenges everyone to do the workout for at least 30 minutes for 30 days.

The program is based on Active Internal Resistance principles and it will help your overall health by improving you physically, emotionally, mentally, vibrationally and spiritually. Some of the moves featured on the DVD are: Air Bar Chest Press, Martial Arts Power Posture Air X Strike, Capoeira Diagonal Reverse Lunge & One Arm Chest Press.

Out of all the workout DVDs that I have tried out this years, the ABX is the most entertaining of the of the bunch. Plus, the workout has great production values. The instructor is very likeable and all the moves are pretty simple to accomplish. Instead of buying a dowel rod, I just used a weighted bar that I had hidden in the corner of my bedroom. The workout program features many squats and lunges, but at a low-impact level, so won't do any damage to your knees (if you have bad knees). Overall, the ABX is an amazing workout program to strengthening your core, gain some flexibility and lose a few pounds.

First time I watched, I made it to the break time and really did have fun. The best inspiration messages during a workout I ever heard. Some of the breathwork/ab was so new it was heard to grasp. But looking forward to working out with again and again. I do believe it is a way to achieve some noticeable changes.

I'm not sure where to start with this video. The only thing that's promising is that she appears to be in great shape, which I'm pretty sure is the only reason the guy is in the video with her. It doesn't seem as if they had ever run through this routine together before recording this. It's awkward to watch and quite honestly feels like a bad 80's movie. I'm sure some of the exercises are worthwhile but I really can't stomach this and will continue with my own routine. I received this product at no charge for the purpose of my own review. These thoughts are 100% my own. #abxdvd

I've tried a lot of workouts in my day, from many boring hours spent on an elliptical machine at the gym to more intense DVD workouts like Insanity and P90X. I have to say that Air Bar eXercises is the first workout that I've found to be fun. Erin is very motivating...she actually called me earlier today to ask how I liked the workout. I would recommend this workout for everyone.

Honestly, I was skeptical of this workout. If you look at its Amazon page, it's hard to even figure out the DVD title, because instead of a name, they crammed in a long list of keywords to get maximum search results. That, and if you start reading reviews, a lot of people seemed to have gotten a free copy of the DVD in return for a review.

That said, I think it is a legit workout. I can run 5Ks five to seven times a week and probably average 12 - 15 miles every time I touch my bike. It's hard for me to even get my heart rate up on a run now. I give this DVD five stars because it just seems to be the perfect amount of everything. Never in my life would I imagine that a holding a featherweight piece of wood give me such a good workout. Shortly into this workout, my arms are burning, and when it hits full gear, I'm actually huffing and puffing.

The pros are that it takes little equipment and it is easy to vary the intensity of the workout. You can get out of it exactly what you want to put into it. It's low impact, too. Yoga practitioners will notice some familiar terminology, and there is some crossover with a little martial arts or tai chi-type of forms.

The cons? I can't really think of any.

The bottom line, I have a little stack of workout DVDs, and I would probably easily give this DVD an award for being the most unique video in my entire collection. Like I said, it is a legit workout. The hour flies by, you get a great workout, and yet you aren't totally wiped out when it is over. At least I'm not.

Also, the DVD that I think would be extremely complimentary to this workout is, "Bodyweight Training: You Are Your Own Gym," by Mark Lauren. The reason I say this is because the ABX workout is done all while standing. Alternating the ABX workout with "Bodyweight Training," would probably be your ticket to visible abs (if you watch what you eat).
