Ok, this one took me by complete surprise. Whilst the first two thrillers about journalist Rebecca Franck are exciting due to multiple layers and stories in the same story, this one takes a completely different turn. The style is more horror than thriller - I actually got scared several times when I read it! I like the change - and want more of the same in the next books!

This is the third book I've read in this series about a Danish reporter in a small.town, along with a talented young
photographer. They work for a small newspaper and are caught up in baffling and sometimes brutal murder scenes which they end up getting involved in to their own peril. The series is entertaining and this book moves at a satisfyinpg
pace. It's not great literature, but it's an entrrtaining little mystery and I enjoyed it.

This book was OK. It was an interesting story with some strange twists. Some of the graphic detail again seemed unnecessary and vulgar. I enjoy the character of Rebekka and her relationship with her father and her daughter, but I find her and Sune to be unbelievable. They way they interact isn't real. Their arguments are too forced, and all she does is lament about how immature he is. I liked this book better than the second one, but the first is still the best of the 3.

Not too sure if I buy the whole premise this book is based on.A green malformed and malice filled girl
full of radiation,a cult who abuse her horribly and then proceed to dump her like trash and in the midst
of all this a somewhat 'modern family' who are vacationing next to very place where the cult lives.
This was a book that I though had some good possibilities but kept getting bogged down in the various
flashbacks. Parts if the book had me wondering if I had missed something and so many of the characters
were just not believable or just mean: the preacher, Isabelle, Ole and the green girl.

Gave the previous two in this series 5 stars and this one is just as good or even better. It helps to read them one after the other but they also register well as stand alone books. Highly recommended for murder mystery fans.

Good fast pace suspense thriller. I was kept on the end of my seat through out the whole read. I recommend to anyone. Book does not have to be read in order.

I love the Rebekka Franck series. This book is good; it deals with both a delusional religious cult and the effects of Polonium-210, the radioactive element that killed Alexander Litvinenko. While the book was an enjoyable read, for the most part, it dragged a little in places. Sune's reactions seemed out of character at times as well. There is also one section that veers into TV fiction versus the reality I like from this series. While the shared hallucination of the victims could be plausible, given the fact that each person's involvement in certain activities was likely the most scarring event of his or her life, the events in the epilogue push the matter into the realm of the supernatural instead. This actually lessens the impact of the overall novel. One of the things that I like about the Rebekka Franck books compared to the Emma Frost books is the lack of the supernatural and the plausibility of the plot. A theme of this book diminishes that difference. Nevertheless, the story is entertaining and a bit educational.

The story itself is not bad. I ended up giving it a 2 star rating because it is so poorly proof read. There are just too many spelling and grammatical errors to ignore. If you can get past these issues, the read is not too bad.
