There's something in here for everyone. The first story is from a woman reminiscing about when she was young spending time in her grandpa’s store, another story from someone remembering her early days of starting her own business with two friends, another story is from someone about his memories of the Tower Bridge in London when he was a boy and later when he returned there as an adult. All fun and interesting reading. Hopefully someday there will be a Volume II of “Five Minute Limit."
Part of the appeal of this book is that these nine authors write and then share their stories with each other once a week. Another benefit is that each story is brief, and can be read aloud in five minutes.
If you enjoy Story Corps on NPR or the Metropolitan Diary in the New York Times, you will enjoy this book. It has an intimate feel, like the authors are in the room with you, sharing a cup of coffee or a glass of wine around the kitchen table.
