There is something in this book for everyone, regardless of your stage in life.
In THE FIVE SEASONS, Cardillo uses a scientific, nondenominational, mind-body-spirit approach to environmental influences on our psychological and physical health.
For me, personally, it helps bring me to Ecclesiastes... "...to everything there is a season..."
During each stage of my own life, I have had to access a variety of seasonal energies...
At the birth of each of my children, working from home, then working as a teacher and the challenging demands of each day, the launching of our children into their own lives... graduations, weddings, new apartments etc... I find that the image on page 97 of keeping our center in the midst of life's seasons is critically important.
I like the analogy of "late summer" (the middle season) for what I also refer to as being "God-centered."... If we are in balance with ourselves, creation, and the Creator ~ from this center all things will flow with grace and harmony.
I am not always graceful or harmonious and Joseph Cardillo's timely reminders are wonderful.
Joseph Cardillo's exercises and meditations at the end of each season/chapter are truly helpful in maximizing physical, emotional, and spiritual balance .
I think that even people who live in areas of the world that experience only one or two seasons can benefit from this book. It doesn't have to be cold or snowy to be experiencing a wintry season in your life... or hot and sunny to be in a summertime mode.
Going back to Ecclesiastes, the lesson of each season is to find its purpose ... maintaining a centered life, a God-centered life... as in Joseph Cardillo's chapter -Late Summer, all will come to its full meaning ... its ultimate purpose.
This is a very interesting read... worthy of time, reflection, and sharing.
He teaches you how to perceive of nature's energy, and use it as a guide for harmonizing best within your life's journey.
The straightforward methods and techniques, both holistic and non-pharmaceutical, are familiar: using music, meditation and breathing exercises, walking outside, etc..., are easy and fun to use.
Cardillo teaches that the inspired creative individual lives the happiest life, and here's a great natural way how.
This author is not a fluffy, New Ager--rather an award-winning scientist and expert on medicine, psychology and holistic wellness--once you get hooked on his books, you gotta have them all!
