At its heart, this is a simple black leather slide with a tiny stacked heel -- it feels like a flat. But it also has pointy toes and a dramatic curvy half-bow that makes it truly eye-catching. Wear it for evening with a long skirt, for a special occasion with a short dress, or at an important meeting with pants.
Wherever you wear it, it will say, "Don't underestimate me."
It also feels quite open, but shows no toes... in case you work in a setting where toes still aren't tolerated.
The only problem: The shoes are really, really, really -- *really* -- pointy. More, in my opinion, than the product photos would suggest. They would not look amiss on black and white stockinged feet and legs, sticking out from under a house which has fallen from the sky.* Maybe the twisty embellishment exaggerates the effect; I don’t know. I do know that if the toe was open, any of my daughters would happily wear these: I took a household poll.
If pointy shoes are your thing, I can say nothing bad about these. I’ll watch “The Fix” brand – even if I wasn’t crazy about the style in person this time, the quality is there.
*That’s a cinematic reference specifically to “The Wizard of Oz”, in case I’ve left shopper in some remote corner of the globe in the dark. You can Google it.
