The Flambeau Outdoors 6490SC Safe Shot Double Gun Case with Zerust provides a convenient and secure way to store 2 of your guns. Zerust products are made with a proprietary chemical formulation that is invisible, odorless, non-toxic, non-reactive, non-flammable and non-allergenic. This chemical formulation releases a vapor that diffuses throughout an enclosure made with Zerust VCI materials and settles on exposed metal surfaces to form a microscopic corrosion inhibiting layer. The design of the gun case features four hasps and latches as well as a combination of piano style and brass hinges for ultimate storage safety when locked. The case has an interior convoluted foam lining that keeps weapons inside protected. I bought this for my Browning A-5 when it outgrew its old case after I mounted a rather large, saddle mounted 50mm high power scope, and a small red dot scope, on it. It just BARELY fits, but the case might not allow me to add a 1" riser mount that I just ordered that it could use to raise the scope to more naturally align with my eye--I'll have to wait for it to get here from China. As to the case itself, it's a little narrower width wise than I had expected, requiring me to remount the 2 laser sights I had added to one side of the rifle scope using different, flusher sitting rings. Also, as some comments have noted, the case is flimsy as heck, but for this price, what were you expecting--Pelican grade plastic? The foam inserts are also flimsier than you would get in a higher priced case, but again you get what you pay for. They are, however, adequate for their purpose, although I have no idea as to whether they will be long lasting like those still in my older cases, which are still going strong after almost 30 years. I did, however, add 5 2" wide by 5" long velcro strips to each side to keep them from falling (or at a windy range, flying) out. Only time will tell if they will keep sticking to the foam, which is always hard to get anything to stick to. Anyone thinking they're going to use this for 2 rifles better not have any optics mounted on them when they're in the case. You could take 1 rifle like mine and throw in a hand gun, but that's as close to "double" as I think most gun owners are going to get. I tried putting in my Colt AR-15, also with a large 50mm high power scope, and a small red dot scope, on it--but that wouldn't fit because the optics added too much height, even when placed at an angle. I have no regrets about buying this case--it does it's required task: getting my shotgun to the range together with my 3 other rifles (each in their own cases) that I schlep there using a set of 3 2" wide Heavyweight Polypropylene straps that I bought (with appropriate hardware) from a custom strapworks company (which allows all 4 cases to be securely held together as a single unit, and pulled like a very large piece of luggage using the wheels on the case at the bottom). I gave this only 3 stars because it's an average product that doesn't have any attributes that are impressive, other than being cheap (which is why I bought it). But it also doesn't have anything about it that's negative beyond what you should expect at this cheap price. I don't think I'd ever put this case in the hands of an airline or anyone else not very likely to handle this with extreme care. So, as my title says, this is adequate for taking 1 scoped shotgun to the range.

Case will hold my 1873 Winchester repro which is ca49" long with ca1.5" gap at each end. It will easily hold another gun and with adequate padding possibly a third. Can hold a rifle and a couple of handguns if all are strapped in and all lock holes are used.

Both the top and bottom pieces of foam sheeting [egg crated on one side and smooth on the other] are thin and of very cheap quality. Foam does have several slits cut in it for using strapping to hold objects in place thus reason for foam not being glued to case.

Case is heavier than expected and tho relatively sturdy is not sufficiently stiff to be acceptable for shipping use. The four [4] flexible plastic closure clips are all on the long front side and can be opened when the case is locked plus they are held on at the closure clip hinge end via a pair of small relatively easily popped on [hence off] tangs that double as the hinge body on the closure clip.

Case is flexible enough to remove contents when locked closed if only the handle area locks are used.

Case has four [4] 3/8" diameter holes for locks - two [2] on inner side of handle ends & two [2] at front corners. If I cannot find a 9' long security cable that will fit through the lock holes, I will need to use four [4] locks to secure the case [overkill I know]. Use of the two [2] end lock position is preferable to use of the two [2] handle area lock positions; and, for all intents and purposes should reasonable secure the case contents as the center while can be pried open can only be barely opened.

Overall am pleased enough to purchase another for my 22 and a shotgun to share.

I was looking for a case that would provide reasonable protection under normal circumstances without breaking the bank. The case is much sturdier than I expected. The latches are plastic but they work well. The foam is average and yes, as other reviews have stated you'll need to glue it in, no big deal. This isn't a shipping case, but it will do the job while you move your rifles to and from your favorite plinking spots. The interior is 12" X 52". I was pleasantly surprised that two scoped rifles fit in the case (see pic). They are a Weihrauch HW95L Field Pro and a Hatsan Model 95. I'll get creative with a little more padding to keep them apart. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase.

Bought this case to replace a soft slip. My air rifle is a BSA Ultra fitted with a Hawk scope. The rifle just fits in, with 4mill spare at the widest point. I could take the scope off with problem solved, BUT II do not want the trouble of setting the scope up each time I take out the rifle. Not a happy bunny, so will use just for storage. If you are thinking of buying this case check the measurements. Case is OK otherwise( as long as you are not going to give it a hammering. Foam is as to be expected for the price.

Looking for a larger gun case for my paintball guns.
This is a good price and large enough to put one rifle and two side arms.
Everything sits nice and tight and doesn’t move around when moving it around.
The reason why four stars is that the foam is not secured down and when opening falls around. Problem solved by double sided tape.
This is a large case and when full feels kind of bulky, but for the price I would definitely recommend.

You cannot call this a double gun case as you can only fit one rifle with scopes into it. Disappointed with that. However, the quality is good. Slimline for easy storage. Rule of thumb is, if you are looking for a good single gun case for your air rifle, shotgun or fac rifle this is the one for you. Not airline approved.
