No zombies. No deadly viruses unleashed.
What could be the cause that led to Rowan "Ro" Callaham’s seamless world falling apart in an instant?
Now with an apocalypse taking over the United States, Rowan must gather her strength to make it out of the city to find her family before trouble comes looking for her or die.
Armed with a first aid kid and basic living necessities, she crosses path with two ex military operatives only to be tempted into her greatest battle yet.
Will she do what she’s always done in the past and put everything first before family?
And when these two sexy men come up with two terms that she cannot refuse, what will become of their fate when it evokes a painful memory that Rowan desperately wants to leave behind? Will she surrender to the throes of passion? Or will she fall so deeply that she’ll never want to let go? One thing is for certain: Rowan is Graham and Zach’s "ONE" and they are prepared to do anything it takes to keep her…
My thoughts: A stellar debut for Ms. Meghan March!
Honestly speaking, and I am not just saying this because I had gotten the opportunity to review this book’s ARC, Flash Bang actually made me want even more from this series. While I got to witness Rowan’s, Graham (of whom Rowan affectionately calls “Conan” from Conan the Barbarian), and Zach’s story take flight, I was actually also hoping for Jonah+his wife+and daughter to have their own separate story line +++ as well as Graham and Zach’s other comrades (like Cam and Lia?) getting some lady or man lovin'. *wink wink* ;)
But MOST IMPORTANTLY, I want a Beau book! Maybe I’m just bias because Beau is the name of my late brother but his really intrigued me into wanting to know more about him.
Trust me guys. I found myself just blasting through this book without even checking how much more I had left to get to the end. *And why yes, I do guiltily do have hang-ups like that!* But, thankfully in this book’s case I did not have this problem at all. In fact, I wanted to see more to see more of the aftereffect of the apocalypse and the reasoning behind what started it in the first place. I just felt as if I was kind of stunted in the whole apocalyptic setting since pretty much the entire story (for the most part) dwells in this super camp that these ex military trained men set up and everything you could need or want is in that secluded facility away from the rest of civilization. It kind of made everything feel sort of surreal in a sense like there wasn't really an apocalypse that occurred.
And the ending of this story! Gah! How did I know that it was going to end like that after Rowan's dad started making comments about the secrecy of their camp location?! It was like a self-fulfilling prophecy come true! Aaah! I need MORE!!
Gosh, please consider writing a book two!! Pretty please?!
The plot was very interesting. The post-apocalyptic premise with the compound was interesting. The preparedness of the characters, and the descriptions was all interesting. And the conflict with the neighbors, and the ending was all very interesting.
All of the characters were interesting. They all had complex and somewhat difficult pasts. Graham, Rowan, and Zach were perfect for each other. Graham was hard and uncompromising, Zach tempered that with a more laid back and loving personality, and Rowan was a firecracker who didn't take any mess. I totally understood her decisions and her actions.
This had some panty melting scenes. The chemistry between the characters, and the descriptions were HAWT.
I really enjoyed this book, and I am looking forward to more in this series. I would like to know Jonah and Allison's story too.
