I feel like I’ve tried flash products that came enclosed in pill pockets or bubble wrap. I was very pleasantly surprised by the nice clear plastic box this came in. I thought the presentation was quite nice. I recently purchased a mobile flash drive from a different company and it was made of cheap looking plastic, so I was also pleased that this one is made of metal and looks quite sleek. Now I just need to find a lanyard so I don’t lose it.
There were no instructions, but when I plugged it in to my iPhone 5S, it sent me to the app. After playing around with the app for a few minutes, I was able to figure out how to watch a movie from it (something I haven’t been able to figure out with my other drive). You just tap “external drive” and you can get to whatever is on the drive. The USB end plugs into a computer like a regular flash drive. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the old DRM protected files. ugh.
The only thing I didn’t really like was that there isn’t a way to cover the USB and lightening connector. The “cover” just spins around. I will probably end up using a cover from another USB drive. I had no trouble plugging the lightening connector with my phone case on. When I looked at it closely, it protrudes *slightly* further than other lightening cords I have that require the iphone cover to be removed. If you have a thin case for your iphone, it will probably work.
Overall, I really like this drive. I had no issues at all. I received a sample of this product in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. All opinions are based on my own experience and observations.

I got another one of these, from a different company, but a larger size for movies on my ipad and decided to get this one for use with my iphone. I use them for different devices because they have different apps that support them. Which is a mild annoyance, but I get it, each company has their own design.
I was really excited to get this and have more storage room. You have to download an app to use with this drive but I didn’t mind that, though this app isn’t as good as the one for my other storage device. It allows me to copy things already on my iphone to the drive as well as take things from the drive and put them on the iphone. From what I can tell all of this data is stored in the app, so you still have to use the app to access it. Pictures seem to be the exception as you can save those from the drive to your camera roll. You can also save everything on your camera roll to the drive.
I tried every video format I have and I know all these will play within the app on the device, or within the app from the drive. (but they must be played within the app) .AVI .MKV .MP4 all work, other formats are listed as working but I don’t have any videos to properly test those.
This thing turned out to be far better than I was expecting and I would definitely recommend it to anyone with a tablet or media device. It’s like a flash drive but better. Though it works exactly like a flash drive when you plug it into a computer. I would imagine it is the same on an android device but I don’t have one to test that. I like that it has a rotating cover to protect whatever end is not currently in use.
The one bad thing I have to say is that the box this came in showed up with a rather large crack. Not a huge deal since the product wasn’t damaged but still kinda disappointing.Read more ›
